I was going to suggest going to have a look and see what Astrid Bolton had for sale, she seems to have some very nice horses, and they are not out of the way prices.

Well today was a very long drive, to see a nice little horse, who was fairly priced at £6000. Sadly, nothing to write home about, as rather "downhill" and inconsistent/fussy with his outline. Very nice girl selling him and I am sure he will make cracking little eventer, for somebody. Am now getting flights priced for Astrid, as she has one she says is 100% in every way and suitable for my needs. As she has been so highly recommended by lots of you HGers, I am inclined to put my trust in her. I do have one to see tommorrow, but thats the same price as Astrid's one, but a year younger and not "ever seen traffic"...... If I didnt hack, which a lot of dressage people dont, it wouldnt be a problem, but I do hack ALL the time, so probably no good. If I could go to Astrids tommorrow, I wouldnt bother, but no flights on a sunday, and am not confident to drive 5 hours, each way, on my own and hubby said no, to driving me !

halfpass, i dont know if someone would be classed as a dealer advertising stud ponies, but i also sell some of my own if outgrown, so private too...i just do the hard work bit of producing the ponies...actually its easy work as the ponies are fab to work with! though i would be proud to "deal" these ponies, im not sure it would be the correct term?? either way they are little superstars and the stud has been the top stud under fei rules for either 3 or 4 years in a row!! very proud to be connected! ;D

Thats ok, you chat away, while I SULK......! Another fruitless day. I was all set to jump on a plane to Astrid's yard, when I rang her to say coming up, only to be told horse now SOLD.... SULK number 1. I had already cancelled viewing for today, so had to grovelling request to go after all. Drove 2 hours again to see a horse they were asking £11,500 for, which I had asked for rock bottom price and told £9,500 as its just SO TALENTED...... Well this mare had the worse hind legs ever, dead straight then bending in under-neath her. She didnt track up, let alone over track in any pace and went up and down, rather than floating forward. What a waste of time. Wouldnt touch it SULK no 2.

Lovepink don't bother going abroad for a good dressage horse. Go west my friend. Still lots of lovely breeding down in the UK West Country. Get onto SHBGB, get the list of stallions at stud and call those standing the stallions. They always know of a goodun. Ring them and make an outrageously low offer. You'd be surprised at how many will bite.

Wish I could give our 13.2 something to make him grow to 15h. Elf far too tall, for him now. All I keep getting is time wasters, and people leaving deposit and then disappearing off face of the earth! Such a shame because he is an international sex symbol- just like halfpass!!!!!!!!

Grrrrr, bad mood is back with a vegence! Thought I would try the IRISH route, as would be cheaper. You know, keep the old options open etc etc
Just been told, will need £12,000 to £15,000 for a nice dressage horse from Ireland. 4 yrs old and unschooled but just backed......
Are they having a laugh, or is it really me? I think I might start showing again and buy a connemara or similiar that can carry me?
Obviously not RICH enough to be into dressage these days.... sulk sulk sulk sulk

dont give up lovepink..it WILL happen..promise..when you least expect it probably. xx chin up xx Cheers, I will try to keep the bottom lip off the floor! Tried a lovely mare today, (see the dressage horse wanted thread), who the owner said she might have sweet itch. She clearly knew she has "very severe" sweetitch, and just made light of it to get me there. Grrrrr Why do people lie, to try to encourage viewers, when all they do is waste their own time and the viewers...... Poor mare

Finally got the horse I have been waiting for! Have you seen her on the other thread? What do you think i paid for her?
My husband is smiling!
She wasnt cheap cheap, but compared to all the bumped up prices, of horses that werent up to much, I think she was a bargain.
Cant wait to get her home........ Thanks for putting up with my moaning for the past few weeks guys xxx
