"can you give a break down of the annual height certificate eg % to vet % to jmb and a further break down on the jmb figure i,d just like to know when £70 is paid where it goes?"
See rule 26.1
"would you also give a bit of back ground on yourself "
You are joking!? How about you going first?

sorry JMB sec I didn't mean I wasn't interested in you - just meant I didn't see why you should have to give background or your cv! and can't see why people would want to see your cv

Why on earth would we want background on JMB? or are you about to head hunt him for some far more glamorous role? I am not interested in JMB's vital statistics, tastes, sexuality or ethnic origins and couldn't care less if he left school without any qualifications and spent three years in rehab having never cast eyes on a horse before.
All that matters is he is doing his job well (which it seems he is) and earning a crust to pay his mortgage. Frankly I would rather he devote his time to doing what he is paid for than answering searching irrelevant questions
So to be straight to the point Jelly, but you are going rather over the top on this. Don't you have ponies to muck out or something.

Jellybabe, I have asked YOU some questions which you have completely ignored. I don't know who you mean when you talk about "we" but I'm certainly not one of them - I don't understand your angle, your manner or your attitude, but I don't suppose I'm the only one either. You certainly seem to have a bug to bear where jmbsec is concerned.... please go and suck a lemon somewhere else and let the rest of us get on!
What on earth's your problem? Your name? Your position? Your background? Then perhaps we can help find you some manners!

jmb sec can you give a break down of the annual height certificate eg % to vet % to jmb and a further break down on the jmb figure i,d just like to know when £70 is paid where it goes? would you also give a bit of back ground on yourself i,m sure that most of us would be interested in your cv something like what you did before jmb ;; your experience of horses ;; your age ;; perhaps interview your self something like you see in hh and the papers Your tone is really offensive on this thread and it certainly appears that you have some sort of vendetta going. Because you use "we" several times, perhaps that indicates the the "collective" refers to patrons of a particular yard. It appears to me, when you do some digging, that there are a couple (perhaps more) yards North of Watford that have objected to one another (I think one is coming off better than the other at the moment - ie re-measuring in!) Perhaps you are even the owner from one of these yards that have ALLEGEDLY "tried to buy the jmb" - unsuccessfully

I went on H&H once and they call people like this 'Trolls' and said you shouldn't feed them. If they don't get fed they go away apparently.

Jellybabe why the great desire to find out the background of the jmb sec. The JMB is owned by the various societies and administered by the sec. Do you enquire about the background of everyone you deal with in a professional capacity?

I too fail to see the relevance of what you are asking. Indeed the site rules state that members should not post personal information.

Apparently Trolls post comments designed to be bait to stir up unrest, bad feeling and arguments between two or more forum members. Well Jelly perhaps you didn't mean to, but you did do that between two members.
If your interest in JMB is genuine, perhaps you should write to him in private as it seems the rest of us really do not want to know.

The incident above is not the first time that this person has done this, either. Jellybabe certainly seems to suffer from a great desire to pry and to stir. Perhaps now, the thread will return to it's proper purpose.

To object to a horse weeks before HOYS (eg Colorado) as well is just downright nasty!! I am in agreement with stamping out the dodgy measuring of animals that are big, but I can't think why someone would do that unless for spiteful reasons. Presumably they have come up against this horse all year & could have complained before this. i totally agree with you coments, and think that its spitfull when it could have been done before rihs, champs, where it i think won supreme at rihs and won ronnie marmont and blue ribband at champs so why do it now, i do hope that they get colerado to hoys as he deserves to be there and put these jelous people in there place

I cannot understand why people get worked up about measurement mid season. After all the horse or pony in question is being judged on all other aspects eg how it is performing and looking on the day not how it looked or went 6 months ago in the winter.
As the horse is being judged on all other aspects on how it goes on the day surely height should be considered as how big it is on the day as well. If I can prove my horse cantered on the correct leg 6 months ago does it mean that if we mess up on the day the judge should ignore it - I presume no-one would say yes - but we are being asked to ignore the fact that a horse is overheight on the day -sometimes by quite a lot based on a measurement 6 months ago.
I think horses should be measured in show condition mid season to be given a gold certificate or full certificate as this is the height they will be when they are competing.

If ponies wishing to take part in HOYS / RI qualifiers had to have a height cert done in the current year or hold a full height cert do you all think this would solve some of the problems ? I am told that CHAPS have this rule or something simliar .

Or, the system the Irish use where you have to get under the laser on the day THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.
It is interesting that the Irish are far more height conscious than the English when they are buying, because there is no getting round it for them - you are under the laser, or you're not. An Irish friend of mine who is trying to buy at the moment is amazed by how many people have told her over here that the pony they are interested in is "on the big side but you could get it in with an effort" - that's no good to her, because in Ireland, it has to be consistently her height, because the laser doesn't lie.

It occurs to me to be rather odd that the concensus on moment is to encourage people to object if they think an animal is overheight. Then, when animals are recalled, the shout goes up "how unfair" and "jealousy".

The laser sounds sexy but like any piece of equipment it depends who is working it - light does not bend, but neither do measuring sticks (?) - if either is not set up level a wrong result is likely. Out of interest how does the Irish laser actually obtain a height reading. I am not sure you are correct in stating the Irish measure on the day, would you point me towards the rule that states this?

Oh dear jmbsec - I'm no good at remembering rules!! My point really was that the irish accept that a pony must be able to measure what one says it measures - regardless of its fitness, its weight or the time of year. I have no problem with anything being measured at ANY time of the year - my only problem is the spite behind people objecting so close to a major championship to a big rival.
As a point of interest, if the irish buy any pony out of England, regardless of its age or anything else, I gather that they are obliged to have it remeasured (laser).
And whilst there isn't a nice man standing at the collecting ring with his laser as each pony goes in, (!) they are all subject to random dope testing and measuring and there would appear to be an awful lot less controversy about measuring there.
There seems to be much more respect there for height, and whilst measuring sticks don't bend, it's hard to argue that some measurers don't either!
