According to JMB it was overheight. As a hunter competitor I cannot get my head around all the major upsets with the JMB and horses/ponies being over height. Surely some method must be thrashed out over the winter to make it an even playing field for all. ???Objecting to a height certificate just days before hoys seems so sad for all the connections. I have read most of the posts and feel it must get sorted to be fair to all

I heard that Highland Joli was never going to compete at HOY's because of the judge. Perhaps they were hoping for a judge change??

I predict I'm going to have a fantastic time watching a lovely pony which I bought in terrible condition as a youngster and brought on and sold to lovely people who have done a fantastic job with him and qualified for HOYS, A rags to riches story with a fabulous ending regardless of the eventual result!

Large RH; Beaurepaire Alys, Sirius, Philander. They were the 1st 3 to qualify, 1st 3 at the Royal, 1st 3 at the Royal International and hopefully 1st 3 at HOYS!!

Thank you Buster 138 - Zara cannot wait to ride on Saturday although I'm really not sure she understands how special HOYS is! Rupert is an amazing pony and as long as he and Zara have fun on Saturday, their result is immaterial. Go Team Harvey!!

Sorry Edward but exactly what do you mean by "if he had been measured correctly by the vets" It implies he was measured incorrectly, and presumably by vets that the jmb chose. Can you enlighten me please. I can understand that feelings are a little raw at the moment but.....

I must admit I didn't have a huge amount of sympathy for edward in my posts though I don't like to see such disappointment. However, I am rather more understanding now that any 'pending' ponies on JMB can compete at HOYS regardless. There is a possibility they could measure out immediately after or simply not present for measurement.
It seemed a few days made all the difference and that isn't just bad luck that is jolly unfair.

I'd like to see Lucie Gordon-Burgess with Gryngallt Primrose win the 122 shp, she's a lovely rider and has had a fantastic and consistent season.

If people would like to do their predictions anonymously then: (a) it may be more fun as you can't go by someone else's favourite; and (b) no-one can accuse you of jinxing your favourite (or whoever you think is the judge's favourite) PM one of the mods if you wish to take up that option and we will have a thread in the mod area which we will move into the Lounge AFTER HOYS I cant find the thread in the lounge - was one done?
