said my bit on that post being a larger person myself I think over recent times we have become a bit precious over our horses and ponies carrying abilities i mean how heavy is a red deer stag and a 13 - 13.2 highland can carry that when mature, i dont want to go much faster than a dead red deer stag ....... And shetland ponies down the mines and welsh ponies up the hills, we are not talking TB here but bred to work animals, I would never want to go 3 day eventing on my cob, maybe we pop a tiny jump and have a odd gallop but its hardly hard work. Dont let it get you down I dont

The issue here is not the thread, but a personal vendetta you seem to have for some reason against me. The quotes you have indicated were all mine I believe but you have taken them out of context, deliberately, to raise yourself a little army. The thread had been discussed in detail and reached a natural conclusion until you chose to begin posting comments regarding myself.
I think all those involved in the original discussion know I am referring to very obese individuals who could possibly hurt a horse.
If you would like to continue with this thread and make yourself feel better as well as continually smiting me and taking away the karmas some very kind people have gone to the trouble to give me, please do so. I have seen people bully others in forums and I have felt concerned for them as a result. Strangely your stalking doesn't bother me in the slightest.
Therefore it may be better to use the pm system.

Actually sageandonoin I also found your comments offensive to us larger people, but you will be glad to know that I have shed the 1.5 stone that I wanted to lose, a good dose of swine flue closely followed by a impacted tooth, managing to eat the odd bowl of chicken soup that if I was lucky I would keep down for more than 10 minutes for the last four weeks but not the diet I would recommend but I'm now a skinny mini and totally miserable, but hey can't wait to start riding again, not sure I will have the energy to stay in the saddle, but at least the floppy bits no longer wobble so I'm now aesthetically pleasing, could you just tell me one thing, what do I do about the jowls I have acquired, I look like Deputy Dog, just a tad worried that if I go for a gallop I might take off.

LOL at HP you need to grow your hair then you scrape it all into a ponytail on the top of your head it's called an Essex facelift.
God forbid any of us should offend anyone's delicate sensibilities with our appearances eh?
Hope you're feeling better x x

Understand about the jowls, commiserations on all the other problems. So nice to be aesthetically pleasing.... Brilliant post ;D ;D ;D

You could also try a heavy duty chin strap hoiked up very tight but don't forget to leave the airway free. Bulging eyes is SO not a good look!

I did suggest to OH that a bit of nip and tuck could be the order of the day, but he thinks geting a few portions of fish and chips down my throat might be a better idea and cheeper.

Either that or tuck them in your jacket lapels and tell everyone it's the latest fashion stock for evening performances - don't put a pin in it though!

be careful with that, glitter and bling could offend the 'native' people amongst us...and definitely no baby oil either!!!

Don't they reckon that after a certain age you have to choose between having a good face or a good bum? A bit more flesh on helps the face, slim too much and bits go south.

Oh had a similar idea, but thought I would look better as a turkey, just a bit worried that with Christmas coming up this could be a bit dangerous, I'd hate to end up as some ones festive dinner, where would they sick the stuffing.

Well I think big is beautiful - especially on my man - you need some meat to get hold of (not being rude LOL)
However, I think everyone has their own view of what is 'obese' - and I agree that obese people should not be on horses that cannot carry their weight.
I class obese as those that you see in magazines, on tv etc. Stuffing themselves with food etc. ( If it is a medical condition it is different.) For example, I read once about a 14 year old girl who weighed nearly 30 stone and the skin on her tummy looked like it was dead.
There is nothing wrong with being big, or fat, for that matter as long as you are healthy and sensible with what you can ride and cannot.

Well I've given up riding anyway due to arthritis so weight on horse irrelevant, last fling was RC pairs dressage with daughter, we had such a giggle! Half sibling palomino Ds, mine fine, been there, done it type delighted to be at a party again but hers young and a bit interesting here and there - like threatening to stand up when we had to halt for the judge.
Surely as well as actual weight (and I'd put almost anybody on a D weightwise, certainly mine at 14.1 fine with me and I'm no lightweight) it's how much you want to do? An hour's quiet hack is a bit different to a day's Leicestershire hunting?

I hope nobody finds this offensive as I am no skinny whippet myself. If you are comfortable in your own skin that is great. No need to get hung up on what the scales say as long as you are healthy.
