Hiya - firstly good luck in your venture, secondly, maybe a little more information would be great, ie, location, why you feel the need to start a new organisation (please don't be offended at that I am just curious), what you are hoping to acheive and how.
Do you have a constitution?

Firstly I am not offended. I am only just starting out with this and am just testing the waters as to see if anybody would be interested
This would be an Organisation that cared for the native ponies of britain and would not only hold our own anuale show but would hold demonstrations and stud tours and have our own quaterly newsletter to keep members up to date on what was going on and to ask ALL members their ideas.
I am doing this as I think that the native ponie of britain of the upmost importance and belive that if thay had an organisation to support all of the breed societys to help them promote the breeds and to bring all native pony breeders and one native pony owners together it would benifit the breeds in many different wasy. This would not be a profit making organisation maybe at 10 pounds per member per year and 5 pounds to register a pony for life.
But remember this is in it's first stages. x

NPO - I would be very interested and maybe this is the way to go, the Kennel Club manage hundreds of different breeds of dogs very efficiently and if we had one governing body for Native ponies I think it would help in a huge way. Obviously it would take a lot of time and hard work to acheive but if someone has the time and inclination I wish them every success.

Sounds like an interesting venture, but I think we would need more details. I would want to know your real identity too so I know if you're someone I have faith in.

just have straight decent judges at your shows and everyone will be interested.... well, except the people who only do well under bent judges.

Why would you want to start up a new society when we already have the NPS, BSPS and Ponies UK. Surely it would be better to help sort out our existing societies that have had generations of work put into them!!!!

I nominate skint to judge, but not if Ime competing, if she put me first I would think it may be fixed,(although it wouldnt be) if she put us last I would not be her friend , joking ,what she doesnt know about natives isnt worth knowing, and she is fare, mind! you should see that hat!!! ;D Really good luck to you and thanks

Unlike ponies uk, nps and bsps this would just be for the native ponies and bsps don't even cater for the in hand natives they only do ridden.

Think it would be well supported and it would be far easier to get native judges as some of the other societys seem to get anyone as long as they are on the panel. Dont get me started about panel judges. A friend of mine was turned down for one of the panels he is knowledgable has shown for years and show many different types and is a bloody good judge on the same days assesment someone was passed who had not got a clue but just happened to be really wealthy and sponsors many classes. It stinks and is corrupt in some cases from the top downwards

Now Now Lolly - you leave my hat alone - It will be a collectors item many years from now - Probably on What Not to Wear but its the only one I have tried that doesnt make me look a T*T head but many maybe differ

Just out of interest would you all be only interested in a new society if the figurehead was well known? I think it could be interesting to have a relatively small name as the big names is where the corruption lies. When are you planning to get this up and running then?

I think the interest lies with the idea of a society run by joe bloggs for joe bloggs, no bigwigs trying to tell the peasants what to do, or i may be wrong! Perhaps it is a figurehead starting it up!!! It would be nice though if we were all equal?!?

I totally agree hopeful, that is what is was thinking so I thought it was weird that everyone seemed to want a big name running it, surely this would solve nothing. What we need is an uncorruptable figurehead with good morals and common sense. I think there worthyness would be soon be proved in due time anyway. God luck NPO, you have my vote anyway!

I think it could be interesting to have a relatively small name as the big names is where the corruption lies. Precisely why I would like to know who is behind the idea. In principle I think it's a good idea but I think the judges should be better "vetted", particularly for performance classes - there are a lot of incredibly knowledgable judges out there when it comes to conformation, but some of them don't know when a pony is on the right leg when it is being ridden.
