See Results - page 2 BSPS Area 8 thread For the ske of the competition and the second placed ponies please come clean rather than cause a BSPS investigation and bad feeling. It will come out sooner or later.

This is what they said
well done to all qualifiers today, following on from a previous thread where a pretty polly ticket was taken away, i thought the ponies had to be not on a producers yard as of 1st jan in current year, and interestingly one of the winners today was on a professional yard in march this year. I was not at the show today so have no axe to burn with it nor am in the same class.

Balls Up if you don't tell us who it was no-one can object. That will make it even more unfair as a genuine pony will miss out on RIHS

I am one of the organisers of the show and I have no idea what is being discussed here! No-one to my knowledge has had any objection to its qualification made. Please pm me if you have something to say about any of our classes.

I do not have a clue which pretty polly class it was, its was Rimriding who posted about ponies being on proffesional yards, dont think that she said a ticket had been taken away though. I am as clueless the rest of you.

I have learnt who the pony was that is being discussed here and will make enquiries. If it is not eligible for these classes I will report it to the BSPS but I hope it is as we worked so hard to make it a good day and this just spoils things.

If this is the pony I think then if not eligible fair enough should not compete but if it is could rim riding at least be honest too- she says she has NO AXE TO GRIND but this is the pony she posted at length on here about being sold over the phone before she could get to see it !!! so is she really concerened about the integrity of the competition or sour grapes?

I dont think my honesty is in question here!! I was merely querying the eligibiity of any pony under the rules, i did not set the rules but i play by them and as such expect others to do the same. Has anyone put themselves (bar one) in the position of the second placed pony in all of this, IF the first placed pony is not eligible it takes it away from them, that is my motivation and yes the integrity of the competition and not sour grapes as so "politely" put. we have been that second pony in the past and beaten by a "produced" pony that lost its ticket 7 weeks later! (and no i did not object to it ) yes it did spoil the moment and added vast expense and time that was not necessary. so yes i do object to cheating (whether deliberate or just an honest mistake as none of us are perfect) and i would have raised the same point whether it was a sp/shp/fr. If the first pony is eligible then thats great for them if not then fair is fair and the ticket should rightfully go to the correct pony.

if you are talking about the pretty pony hunter pony class, then the second placed pony is the one which has qualified. The pony which won has already qualified.

if you are talking about the pretty pony hunter pony class, then the second placed pony is the one which has qualified. The pony which won has already qualified. So does that mean the first pony has "qualified" twice even though it is not eligible? Something sounds very very wrong here!!

Post by rules r rules on May 7, 2010 22:53:14 GMT
I cant imagine why anyone is calling Rim's honesty into question, all that has been said is that the pony is not eligable to compete in the pretty polly classes and by doing so the pony has broken the rules. Rules are rules, abide by them and dont shoot the messanger by getting personal.

I can now tell you that the pony that qualified at Area 8 has been disqualified as has the one that was reported in the Horse and Hound. Both were new owners and had no idea they were doing wrong and I feel extremely sad for them.
I know nothing of the Amy Cook question by the way.

Bundle , Please can you confirm that Amy Cook was riding Adam W's Intermediate. She wasn't listed as riding in the results but looks like her in the photos. Maybe Adam swoped jockeys? Amy evidently qualified for the PP on her pony elsewhere. If so she will need to be checked up on to ensure all is fair.

Actually none at all!! I wrote to them again yesterday regarding four different ponies at our show - which I have to say is most disappointing. The second in the PP Lead Rein was disqualified The winner of the Lead Rein of SHT was disqualified No news on Pocohuntas - it appears that the owners believe they are eligible and the BSPS require proof that it was in a yard when they bought it. The Amy Cook question is still outstanding. I am disappointed that I need to find the proof rather than the previous owners coming forward - but I will watch the space so to speak!
