if the producer is to ride hime i think that ri may not come to the fore. if its ridden by the owner then i still think it will do well but not be as much of a threat. still we may all be surprised!!

If you want to reach your DREAM, you must stay past the point of when you normally would have given up!
Good luck everyone - nearly there.

God I don't even know the rider or pony you what were talking about but poor girl. If i was her i wouldn't want to ride in fear of what you were all going to say. I have no idea how old this girl is but it shouldn't really matter. To ride at Olympia is a dream for people I hope other peoples bitterness doesnt spoil it for the lucky who have qualified. There are so many lovely ponies going it is hard to pick out a favourite but i would say red must be in with a chance. Would also like to see Pearly King do well. But whoever wins i am sure you will de deserving. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO IS COMPETING HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY IT, OLYMPIA IS A ONCE IN A LIFE TIME EXPERIENCE DON'T LET ANYONE SPOIL IT FOR YOu.

The NPS have decided to make some last minute changes on account of comments on this site. Professionals need not worry about their livlihood as long as they are showjumpers. Yes, all the ponies will now be ridden by showjumpers, complete with all pieces of equipment, and some will make Wilkie bits seem like rubber snaffles. The grooms will be chain smoking whilst grooming in the ring, and John Whittaker will only do his show to "Simply the Best". Tim Stockdale will be trying to gather the "Only Fools on Horses" team as stand in riders. Needless to say, the placings will not be decided by the judges. Oh, no, they will be decided by a clapomotor (sp).
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THOSE TAKING PART.

RE. The M+M final on the TV, great for those interested, but for the vast majority who have'nt a clue about showing, it will appear boring, complaints will be made, the knock on could be even less TV on more interesting events like Badminton, Burghley etc...how much dressage do you see on TV, probably for the same reason

We do need to publicise our native breeds better than at present.

And if necessary they could put it on bbc interactive which you get if you have freeview - they showed the olympic dressage this way and was extremely popular so i hear And now zara has won sports personality of the year they might take equestrianism more seriously

Perhaps the BBC could put the final on with an explanation of the importance of our native breeds and a visit to the breeds in their natural environments.
This then may get others to realise why M&M showing has grown, is popular and is important.

Have I missed it? Did the Horse and Hound run no M&M pre Olympia coverage this year?

I went to the Royal Lancs and saw Lucy Cravens Highland Win and take champion and qualify. i think she should definately be in top 2 or 3. its a beautiful horse, well mannered, a leg at each corner, and looks a million dollars!!!!!!!!!!!

Just another reason why it's not worth subscribing too now IMO. I cancelled my sub this time last year and I haven't regretted it.
There's a comment on the PUK thread about H&H monitoring that particular thread - maybe it's worth creating a new thread for H&H to read so you can advise of your disappointment at their M&M coverage of late.

There is no reason why it couldnt be shown on say bbc interative. the entire main ring programme from the Royal Welsh Show plus the horse classes at the Royal Welsh winter fair are all shown live and unedited on s4c2 on sky.
