Is there a facility on this site to let others know about members who indicate that they wish to buy something and then don't pay and ignore messages. They are just timewasters and perhaps others should be made aware so that they do not deal with them. I have had two this week and it not only wastes my time but it's rude not to at least message the seller . I am happy to name and shame just didn't know if I am allowed to. Both these people have logged in regularly so so excuses not to see messages.

This thread has been started as a result of this one horsegossip.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=tack&thread=64876 - please keep any discussion on this thread so the other thread is used for naming and shaming only. Thanks.I have had the same int he past, people just wanting Pics, Price and basically just being nosey parkers, with no intension of buying anything at all.

I have had that too, people asking where to send money and say they are going to, but nothing and no reply to messages

I think this is more about people who have bougt something and not paid more than people who Pm about ponies. Coincidentially, I ask for photos or info about a few of the ponies on here always asking about lumps and bumps and sarcoids. Travelled 5 hours to look at a coloured and what did it have... a sarcoid. i have money in the bank that I am desperate to spend on the right pony. If only people were honest in the original advert.

I'll move this to the Sales area and you can name and shame in there. Please don't abuse this though - ONLY name and shame where members have said they WILL purchase and then haven't. People who ask for further details and then don't respond are pains in the neck, but not non-payers.
The thread will just be in the tack/show clothes area to start with anyway as I imagine that's where most abuses will originate from.

I agree with Guestless, interested parties are quite within their right to ask for more info, pics, postage costs etc as we all want the make sure the item is what we want, however, when that person then asks for paypal details or address to send cheque to I take that as an intent to buy. If they change their mind, is it too much to ask for a simple text, pm or email ? It is the ingoring of messages that really P's me off and if I am not contacted soon I shall name and shame.

there are some folk who are very busy and work full time manage several ponies walk dogs attend physio and hospital appointments and sometimes forget to put a cheque in the post so it takes a bit longer to complete sale. obviously if people ignore pm's they aint going to buy! but spare a thought for them like me just plain forgetful lol x

Ten day's of messages, all opened but ignored is not 'forgetful' it's rude. Modified to say, within an hour of this thread I was contacted by one of the timewasters, funny how the thought of their name being posted makes them 'regain their memory '

I enquired about a pony, was interested, only too far away for me, did tell the seller this and apologise, does that make me a timewaster?

No, not at all chorro, i'd say you were very polite . The people I am talking about are the ones who say they would like to buy something, ask how to pay and then you never hear from them , you don't receive payment and you are left not knowing whether they are going to pay or not as they ignore any form of communication. You would def not be called a timewaster.

Whoisshe, you are missing the point, these people do not pay and have no intention of paying. It's not about late payment it's about no payment.

Just as annoying, as happened to me this weekend - responded to an item for sale on here - asked for photos. Person sent them that afternoon - and kindly informed me she'd increased the price by £20 in line with ebay prices.
Guess what - I won't be buying (and he/she won't get the courtesy of an email back either).

Chorro You were very polite and did not waste my time as let me know straight away. Had someone from here that really wanted a pony I had for sale, arranged day and time and they did not turn up. I even rang them twice but no reply and we waited three hours. Put off another buyer who really wanted this pony, because other person got intouch first, luckly got intouch with them and pony gone to a super home.

Pencaedu, I had something similar happen to me, I asked about an item, asked for pics and got them, agreed a price then paid by paypal the next day. I waited a few days and asked where my item was, only to be told "really sorry I didn't know you wanted it, it sold on ebay a couple of days ago"! Now I ain't no fool, I know that items are usually put on ebay for at least 7 days, turns out that the seller had already put item on ebay when they agreed a price with me (the item had only one bid and was going much lower than the price we agreed), then as the week went by and the bids started coming in, she let it run on in ebay and sold it for more money than I paid!!!!! She said she didn't know I had paid, emails from both me and paypal may have been a clue!!!

i have learned when selling a pony that the pony is for sale until the cheque clears the bank pony does not move until all cleared i too have had people say they are coming not turned up but i have not put people off just said someone is coming at 10 am would like to see it at 11am and been truthful. On the other hand i have sold a quarter horse mare unseen sent loads of photos of her cheque arrived cleared within a week and transport was arranged the following week by the new owners and photos of her in her new home arrived the next day everyone very happy they even said they got a bargin and i had made a wee proffit.

I have had the same int he past, people just wanting Pics, Price and basically just being nosey parkers, with no intension of buying anything at all. I wouldnt call that time wasting (or being nosy).. i'd call it researching... People are allowed (or should be) to enquire about prices, products, information without being being held responsible to actually buy anything.... after all.. dont you shop around?

Hi guys i have just had a bad experience of selling. The buyer took my bank details and told me the payment was going to be within my bank in 2 hrs i had kindly given this lady free postage and reduced the items. Ok the payment was only for £15.00 but it wasnt the point. I sent the items stupidly not checking if the payment had gone in. Anyhow i checked about a week later in the meantime the items would of arrived. I emailed the buyer on 4 different occassions politely to see how she was going to pay as the money wasnt in. I have had no reply back from this buyer and was wondering if there is anything i can do about it. I know its my fault to of sent the item before checking i will not be trusting as much again. Please help

Would it really kill some people to at least afford you a reply when you go to the bother of answering 100 questions and sending photos??
