Teazle must have explained in some detail to Phoebe, the importance of helping the "Daddy" person. Pheebs comes to the hosp. with me all the time now and is very good, quiet, patient and trusting.
Naturally, she gets to be spoken to and 'chuckled under the chin' by staff and other patients, who confront her just as if she was stoic Teazle. She copes. And yesterday, once 'we' had shaved him and cut what remains of his hair, 'we' took him back to the day-room and fed him his midday meal. This takes ages as he only opens the mouth occasionally and it's difficult to get the timing and the teaspoon right. Pheebs sat patiently under the neighbouring chair to John's, just like Teazle used to. Even when another patient tried to move the chair.
Amazing, for a shy little dog who was a breeding bit*h and not a house dog, (never mind a hosp. visiting dog) until last October.
If any clever person would like to copy this into the dementia/ cancer thread, I'd be very grateful.

No piccie, obviously. But just to say that it's a month today, Teazle, since we lost you. Pheebs and I are coping, but it's not the same without you.xxx

And now three whole months. But, do you know what, Teazle? You would be SO proud of Pheebs at the hospital. You really would. It's as if you're there, gently guiding Pheebs.
