Had a lovely time at Equifest as usual although did get a bit soggy judging yesterday!! My shoes are still soaked!
I had a phone call a few moments ago from a lady who is coming to look at foals on her way home to Somerset, to say she had just arrived on the showground with three ponies to find that the three duration stables she had booked were not available! Apparently there were 21 Shires with no stables either! Luckily I have managed to find her accommodation for the night with a local friend, but did feel sorry for her - poor girl didn't know what to do with her ponies! Amazing entries this year - more than ever I think!

update for today... georgia and sammy the sec a stallion once again got NOTHING lol but did best show ever! ... then ccragg and dougal 11th out of 27 in equifest highland champ... then georgia and poppy aka townend patience 4th in equifest ridden dales/fell championship out of 25 ... once again highest mare... SOOOOOO PROUD!!! .... relatively early finish at 3ish followed by bbq and wine!!!
ps we were judged today by Matthew Lawrence... and whilst I appreciate we got a good placing I would like to comment on what a lovely man he was... he watched every show from beginning to end... had a lovely pleasant cheery manner., and at the end went from first to last place to each competitor with feedback... thankyou!

Congratulations to Jenny Thornton's 148 SP, Diptford Daydreamer, on winning the Novice Sp Champion and the Restricted SP Champion. He was such a star in both supremes, calm and loving every moment! Ridden beautifully by Christina Stuart and Chloe Hughes on the different nights. Team Ryde-Rogers are very proud of their baby pony!
