To the very well known male judge, at Equifest, judging m and m's. I am sure no one minds being told what they have done wrong , constructive criticism etc, but when you walk up to a young lady on her pony , hand her her rosette, and the only comment made before walking off is, "I think your colour jacket looks disgusting with that pony" is totally uncalled for, unproffessional , and just down right rude. I was not aware it was a fashion show.No one is twisting these peoples arms to stand in the ring and judge, and if they can't be nice, especially to our children,it's not good enough, I know my daughter was not the only one upset by rude judges, but thankfully others were jolly and helpful. Whats that saying , if you can't say nothing nice , don't say it at all.

After a couple of hiccups on the rain on thursday we had our best equifest to date with Roseisle Justins hounour
Thursday - 3rd Sp Fr, 4th SHP FR (our of 3 and 4 respectivley) Friday - 3rd out of about 12 in the SHP FR after being pulled in 7th, then 5th out of 6 in SP FR
So after our poor performance in the SP FR we didnt have much hope in the Equifest SP FR on sat afternoon to our astonishment we were pulled in 5th out of about 13 and went upto 3rd
9th in the Lr WHP out of 15 maybe more on sat morning
Doing well for an old boy I think

Just had an interesting conversation with equifest regarding the NPS Home Produced Supreme Champioship and have discovered that the winner will stand despite not being present for the pre judging. I have been offered joint Title and for information I am attaching a copy of email sent to Equifest in reply
Following our telephone conversation of today re the above Championship and speaking to our family, we feel that we cannot accept a joint Championship. As a sign of goodwill to the committee of the otherwise extremely successful Championships, we have decided that we will accept the Reserve which we were awarded on the evening, having been assured by yourselves that this situation will not occur in future years. Our acceptance of this award is in no way an admission that our opinion on the absence of a pony in the pre judging within the allotted 10 min call time qualifies it to appear and take Supreme in the evening performance. I wish to reiterate that I have no personal objection to the winner and that I had no idea who the gentleman in question was at the time. My grandfather competed at Olympia in 1935 and the family have had an uninterrupted showing association since and still respect his ethic and moral values which he instilled in us all. Our best wishes go to Mr Van Praagh and his family and hope he enjoys his success. Yours Sincerely Kerry Gibson.

I was thrilled with my outing! We were in the T&T first thing on Thursday and got 10th out of 26, he was silly in the line up and was rearing so knocked my confidence a bit but I was persuaded to go back in the ring for the novice c's which was a huge class of 36 and i was so so chuffed when were pulled in intially in 5th. he slipped in his show and wrong legged twice so didnt place but was still absolutely thrilled with how it all went.
I didnt do my other two classes as I felt the ground was too slippy and didnt want to risk an injury or his/my confidence so we finished there!

No you arent in the wrong at all , the stewards and judges were who agreed to let us leave in the knowledge we werent coming back , due to that ring being an hour late - that was why we also we given a first rosette and prize money - no worries towards you at all xx However that and then the disappointment in the sp championship did leave us rather flat after a great week.

soz ponymum but i agree with TeamEdmead<3 especially as it states in the rules and i guess it wasnt Equifest's fault there were so many entries in classes things were bound to clash for some peeps and which pony/ring we choose to compete in is up to us ... if they held the rings up for missing people then a show of that size would have fallen into chaos
we were in the very same position with two different ponies in different rings at same time .. the stewards and judges were very helpful ... we were drawn 8th in large m&m class after go round so daughter hopped off and went to do her workers in WH2 and whilst she was away, the individual shows carried on and past her pony and with one pony left to do it's show in m&m ring, the steward came over and explained that if rider was not back before last pony had finished it's show we would have to leave the ring with which i totally agreed (they had done their very best for us) but luckily daughter came legging it back just in the nick of time and completed the class
thank you to the lovely lady steward in Ring 5 who was a gem all week (if yo are reading this i am the lady who was wearing the tartan hat!)

Thanks for your opinon Bigmama - however Jon Philips told me he will have stated in the rules for next yr that as long as pony and number are still present in the ring , they will be awarded their rosette.....Again I think this boils down to all the societies trying to get together and unify a set of rules....then irrespective of what society show you are competing at we will all be aware of the correct ruling
