My oh MY!! this is the first time in which I have visited this board and what a bunch of bitter people are on here -(no offence to those that are lovely! that make snide comments but have not the decency to reveal themselves - says something doesnt it! I (Kelly Casling - Owner of the now famous Maenan Captain Corelli) would like to thank Nicky for her hard work with Chas and also congratulate them on qualifying for both HOYS and Olympia. Its disappointing that a few nasty people feel the need to take away the excitement! Chas has done a couple of quiet seasons with me with good success and it was definately to be his year and we always knew that. So Nicky in future please could you waste all your time, effort and money and show him under judges that really dont like his type or way of going - and then those jealous people will be happy but moan about 'the faces' being placed instead - cause obviously there were no faces against you yesterday HO HO HO!!! I mean come on! All those years you have wasted on the circuit learning what judges like what obviously mean it was fixed even on an unknown pony! Funny enough its seems crazy that if a judge likes your pony that you would attempt to get another ticket under that same judge at a later date - really we should have left him at home and let someone else take it - YEAH RIGHT!!

get over yourselves - Caspar is a section A who does what it says on the tin - he doesn't look like a b, or a lightweight show pony - he looks like an A, goes like an A. If you'd come on here slating P the judge like this, Aimee would have been shouting slander and libel and demanding the removal of the thread. We are chuffed to bits that Caspar and Tori got the ticket and wish them and everybody who qualified the best of luck at Olympia and hope that they thoroughly enjoy it!

Truth is always relative and Judge has frequently been slated on this site. that however is not the point - you might not like Caspar, but that's your problem - he and Tori have their ticket - nothing left to prove.

what about the Olympia "B" classes? What did people feel about those results. Have heard that the ridden stallion class was not easy to follow with the current Royal Welsh Champion pony doing an outstanding show which was just ignored by the judge? Why would this be ?

I cant believe the difference in your cob, he has come on so much he is a real credit to you! I watched him on saturday and he looked everybit the winner. (you know, I know and the Judge knows he went lovely, so ignore what is said on here about the wrong leg its totaly rubbish)
I think the judge did a fab job in putting you through, she certainly knows a good cob!! I think the boy will look fantastic under the light at Olympia!!!! I for one cant wait to see him there!!
WELL DONE you really deserve it!!!!

Just out of interest with no hidden agenda!, who won the other sections of the D riddens?

Post by Well Done on Jul 9, 2007 8:14:12 GMT
The mares was won by Carol Issac on Broughton Pride (Reserve in the Olympia qualifier) and the Geldings was won by Murryahll ............I have to check the catalogue! He was second reserve in the Olympia qualifier and reserve overall section D champion. (I think carol Issac was in another ring and therefore did not come forward in the overall champ)

Entries quite low in quantity and quality this year, dissapointing as the going was perfect and it is such a lovely venue. Dont know exact numbers for the rest but Ds 15 entered only 8 forward for the stallions, 15 entered only 11 forward in the geldings, 18 entered only 5 forward for the mares. Not sure that those that qualified would do so in a non breed championship .

Exactly unfortunately it seems breed shows are viewed as easy qualifiers - out of interest has a breed show qualifier ever gone onto be champion? Need to be confident that the best possible examples go forwards.

Yes, Starcrest Discovery qualified at Northleach and went on to win Olympia!!!
I dont know what you are insinuating about the D that qualified, but he is a lovely example of a welsh cob, a very traditional stamp of cob. He went beautifyly and I am sure would have qualified at non breed show, I believe he won his Olympia section at an NPS show earlier on?
Also..
Prestrumbly sax mad Johny, qualified for Olympia at Northleach, and actualy won HOYS!
I just think people are trying to cause trouble, if you were there on saturday you would have seen who was the peoples choice as well as the judges choice to get the ticket!!!!
Stop being nasty and if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say anything!

Stowbrook Jenny Wren won at the Exmoor breed show and won HOYS, RIHS and Olympia - recall some Olympia reserves were also winners at their breed qualifiers...what a silly remark to make!

I can not understand why people have to say negative things! The cob that won is a stunning example of his breed type, its a shame there are not more cobs like him in the ring. He has lovely manners for a stallion and looks a pleasure to ride.
He is in his first year of being shown, and I just think people are jealous!!
Where have the days gone when people just say congratulations and good luck, you spend years showing and building up to something like Olympia, just to be knocked down by stupid, ignorant, people who possibly have not got a horse good enough to qualify!!!
The qualifiers of the A,B,C and D, just enjo yourself, you are holidng the all important ticket, dont let small minded idiots knock you down!!!!

Hi, here are the results for Bs as best I can remember. My apologies if any are wrong! I have more detailed inhand b and pb results if anyone is interested? Olympia stallions - 1ST - Moelgarnedd Myrddin (champ) 2nd - Linksbury Royal Charm 3rd - Rhoson Shem Olympia Geldings 1st - Millcroft Ghost 2nd -Barkla Royal Heir 3rd ? Olympia Mares 1st - Wotley Wild Jazmin 2nd - Thornberry Serin Can't for the lfe of me remember who won the Picton, I think it was Boretin Cerdin, Intermediate was Eyarth Savero. In reference to the above post about Shem, I to can't believe he didn't win, I've never seen him in the flesh before and was totally blown away by him! Not to take anything away from the qualifier, he to was beautiful, just thought there must have been something we couldn't see

i love rhoson shem and yes he well might be a royal welsh champ but not every judge likes the same if you look at the b who qualified and shem there are quite different! also i just think shem just looks like he could do with a bit more condition when stripped but thats mine opinion so dont have a go at me i am not criticizing the ponies type or anything lol! the qualifier is also a major winner inhand his results over the years have been outstanding so well done to them!

Well done to Myrrdin i think he is a beautiful pony who is proving consistent under saddle. More my type than Shem who is pretty but rather close behind and light stripped.

Given the result in the B stallion class I find it quite interesting that the Linksbury pony is based only a few miles from the judge - has not won anything under saddle and gets pulled top in an Olympia qualifier!!! Congratulations to Myrddin and his connections - at least they won on merit and will do a good job at Olympia - but as for the second pony I am at a loss to see how he ended up in that placing ?

Well done Nikki with your Section C. I was at a certain stud when you phoned through with your news For the record, from the previous comments, I'm assuming either David Blair or Tom Best were judging. Both are most definitely as straight as a die - I've shown under both of them and have always felt comfortable with the results (whether first or last (and I was last once!)) and they do not put people at the top of the line based on who they are. IMO they are consumate professionals and we could do with more judges like them.
