It was RIHS not HOYS. The judge loved the Thomas's and they won everything. The poor pony called in top in the 133cm was robbed. Did amazing show in pelting rain, ran up better and straighter than any of the others and for some odd reason then got dumped to third with two fat not fit ponies put above it. They wouldn't have lasted an hour with hounds carrying all that weight. teh 122cm was fat as well. We all thought judges were supposed to take this into account?

Quite agree with this, there are too many fat shp's going about this year and an abundance of ponies that don't move straight in every category. Don't know what is the point of us doing conformation for straight correct movement not to be taken into consideration, rant over, I know this is a results thread but it really rattles my cage.

Both the 12hh (Greylands Maid in the Dark) and the 14hh pony (Greylands Stardust) who won today have been bred by us. Debbie and Ron have done an outstanding job producing them to such a high standard. Both are looking extremely well. This does not stop them from moving straight and freely from the shoulder, the 12hh has one of the best gallops I have ever seen in a small pony. Take a look at the top hunters who win. They also look really well, many of these go out hunting in the winter. When they go hunting they are not in show condition. I suggest if you want to moan about judging you should stick to complaining about the badly behaved/dangerous ponies who are placed. There are many of these around. You should also have courage in your conviction and be prepared to put your correct name to you postings and not hide behind pseudo names.

To Judith Thomas Greylands Stud
Was Greylands Little Gem one of your ponies, I remember this lr pony so well when Hannah Horton rode and went supreme at HOYS, whatever happened to this pony after all that success, such a perfect and exquisite lead rein, and if I remember right was quite tiny as well, only 11.2hh

Also meant to ask , does anyone know full results of Int WHP? Interested in how Bundle's love and joy got on ..... if you are reading Bundle, I did think of you today at lunch time, thinking we should really be having one of your famous picnics in the lorry park at Windsor, sitting on the very dodgy picnic table with chairs attached, whilst holding onto dogs and ponies grazing for food and grass respectively!!!! Also thought of you coz it was pouring with rain and howling a gale! perfect weather for windsor!!!

I agree with Jolly roger the the black 122 waddled round, cantered in its trot and wrong legged it, the bay pulled in first in the 133 gave an amazing show and looked lovely maybe it would have won had the grooms not gone in to strip prior to the ponies giving their shows instead of ending up third. The bay pulled in top in the 143 class also should also have remained top but yet again a blubbery brown came up to win and in the 153 the winner again went badly. no wonder so few people bother to go only 4 in the 122. The only class the judge seemed to judge properly was the ISHT and in case you are wondering no we weren't exhibiting thank goodness. v smith-thomas (fairplay stud)

Unfortunately she developed cancer and had to be put down which was a very sad time for all. Her mother Tammy, is still going strong. At 22 she is with Robert and Sarah Walker helping their son with his riding.

The 122 and 143 winners are nice ponies and "very well" however I suggest you take them to be weighed up at the NPS show to find out if they are correct or overweight. As for the 133cm pony which was dropped perhaps it's groom did go in early but it competed in the worst of the weather and any judge, parent or groom leaving any child to sit through that in soaking clothes could be accused of child abuse. Rugby players would run for cover but these kids never do. showing needs to get its priorities right. Character building is one thing but complaining about kids coats is another. Judges shjould allow children to show in their mac's in such weather becuase they are judging the pony not the complete picture.
