I did. Bone, movement, Head, Neck, Ring presence, swap rider then see what this pony would win.

I have to say I agree. The pony is well produced but in no way deserved to win today, I have to say it was not the best pony on the day and the judging was very facy! Put a non face on this pony and it would not have a chance.

Miller you seem to have changed your tune from previous posts. John'c Cuckoo is a former stallion with top class progeny on the ground he was gelded because he had miserable life as a stallion and it was the kindest outcome for him. Your comments sound like the green eyed monster, get a life.

Brock Lodge Buster is a lovely pony but he does look like a mini andalusian which is not true to type surely? I am not bitter and was not competing today. I think you just have to pick your judges "facey" ones are a no no and "non facey" have a go. I dont waste money on judges I know are not right and who pick a face and so far we have had a good season. I have one pony that I campaign and showing is a hobby for me and not a career. I enjoy the shows that i do.

Sorry about the incorrect names but I am sure you know what pony I am talking about, there are so many Killmanan Black.......something or others out there LOL ;D She a lovely pony....one I would like to take home. As for the Connie, B L Buster I personaly thought was in a class of his own today in his class, as for looking like an andalusian.......... yes he has similar colouring but that is where the comparasion ends..... I think hes a lovely free moving pony who covers the ground, has a fantastic length of rein, great bone and limbs....I certainly would love to take him home and I am sure he will be at Olympia very soon.

lets just hope all this so called facey judging stops sometime soon,as my pony and i wont stand a hope in hell when we come to do the big qualifiers. it must be so fustrating for the amatures like me out there always being 2nd to a producer, times and judges need to change the classes are supposed to be judged on comformation and performance not who is sat on top. i have seen so many ponies this yr ridden by their owners and then the following week with a producer on board to get them their hoys/ri/olympia tickets i would like to get my pony to any of these on my own merit,if its good enough for that level of showing it shouldnt matter who is sat on top. old and past it judges need to be put into retirement and newer fresher faces need to be bought forward. ;D ;D ;D ;D

The way fowards to put a producer in the saddle ;D why? that just goes to show that judges are all (or most) are bent and will only pick a face prehaps i ought to invite some out for dinner

well have a closer look at BLB ....... i dont think he is particularly typey, he is a nice pony but not that typey. For me a lovely connemara is Glencarrig Duke who was best of breed at Olympia last year and of course Castle Comet.
I have thought about putting a producer on my pony just to qualify it but i want him to qualify on his own merit and i totally agree with sick and tired. Perhaps you should invite them to dinner or perhaps drinks in your lorry!! It is sad when it comes to this but one of the top producers asked to have my pony and told me he would get to the top with them but it is not what i want i want him to do it because he is a nice pony and also i cannot afford to go down that route. My pony is a hobby for me and i work very hard on it. I have decided that next year i am not going to chase qualifiers and will only travel a maximum of two hours from home as I am fed up with all the shenanigans that go on with showing. Anyway I am going to enjoy the rest of this season and will campaign my pony to the best of my ability.

I have seen BLB and he is a fab pony with plenty of presence , I have also seen John cuckoo's who is a nice pony but not an Olympia pony but at the end of the day ML is paid to do a job . I think it would so much easier for the NPS just to hand out an Olympia ticket to each of the major producers at the beginning of the season and then let the rest of us fight it out for the remaining tickets at least you might not know who was going to qualifier before you even went in the ring .
Oh don't bother with drinks in the lorry , just have lunch with judge before your class in the judges/officials tent certainly did the trick today for a certain pony owner !! the NPS will be their own undoing you can't run a competition with no competitors and that is the way its going I'm sorry to say .

What a shame that yet another result was predicted before the actual outcome seen.
Buster looked like a connie in a different league IMHO. No doubts about that. Performance wise I am told that it was also in a different league. So on both counts, it was ahead!!!!
Ever wonder that the Olympia entries are so low. Who can be bothered to get out of bed without a fair chance. Surely, it's time for two judges to at least reduce the chances of a pre-decided outcome.
What joy can any owner feel getting something handed to them on a plate. Hardly a competition........or an achievement........

Just wanted to say I am the owner of John's Cuckoo and far from being at the show having drinks /lunch with anyone I was at a lovely wedding . I bought Jonny at the beginning of this season at it was always intended that Mathew should ride him this year and I would like to thank Mathew and Mark for the wonderful job they have done with him. We have several other ponies that I produce from home including one that we won HOYS with last year so it is possible for the home produced person to do and although several guests may not have thought he was the best pony on the day he has in fact won his last 3 before today Olympia sections and got his HOYS and RIHS tickets but regardless of that he is a really lovely pony ( in my eyes) ans I am only sorry that guests have managed to spoil what should have been a lovely day in so many ways - thank you .

i to look forward to the new nps rules next year and thought they were being implemented this year. Perhaps we will all have a bit more of a chance next year. I agree the classes are for the producers or a "face" and not the home produced and I am not sure how you will resolve this problem. Roll on next year.

I want ours to win against the best! I agree judging can sometimes be facey and there are certain judges I won't touch with a bargepole (one of the sub judges at the rwas for example, am gobsmacked they would have her back after last year). However it is a fab feeling to home produce and win - we've done it and its great, if we only wanted to compete against home produced we'd stick to those classes. Olympia should be about the best of the best and there is never going to be complete agreement on which is the best. Good luck to all who qualify and I hope the shine isn't taken off by pettiness and bitterness

Interest thought Forester and I don't know the answer to that about would he have won with my daughter on board maybe not but the whole object of having him with Mathew was to give him the best start possible which anyone who knows the yard will agree that is what he is getting. However we did buy at pony that they had produced and done very well on and have actually done better on ! The whole object of buying Jonny was to have fun with him but eventually he will come home for us to show and me at my advancing age to hack about on as one of the main things about him is his wonderful temprement. Thank you tothe people who have sent us some lovely messages x

princessv - I dont think many people will be attending both Yorkshire and Kent County !!! Other ends of the country ...... sd52 - dont let a few silly jealous comments on here spoil your day and your pride in your pony ... CONGRATS !!!! And see you at Olympia As for all the comments about producers etc ..... com'on change the record. Look at the other results, Both the B&C's and D's classes were won by amatuers and not producers (Fiona Cork & Lisa Barsum). And both of these riders/ponies have already qualified for HOYS as well this season. So it is possible ... Lexy.
