Was there a photographer, and, if so, who?

i didn't see matthew lawrence win the ch/ship, but i'm in little doubt it would have been foot perfect and beautifully produced. we had bo***oxed up our attempt in the smalls. having got everything else right, pony determinedly went on the same wrong leg twice! to get it all right on the day AND have the judge fancy your pony is not easy, and the judge by body language obviously fancied ours. i can't get in a state over who won the ch/ship if we muck it away in our section. good luck to ML i say. my campaign to take A's out of the smalls for next year has born fruit. it won't make it any easier to get a ticket on ex dart or shet (Isn't meant to) but they should at least represent their breed in the ch/ship more often. thank you NPS.

Congratulations to Mathew - as someone else has said at least he is a lovely competitor who is always the first to congratulate others and well done to the owner. We maintained our love of yellow!! But had a nice day out - well done to Sam and Henry on your results and Lauren with Malt. On the comment above we were told yesterday that because of this with the A's that the C's will now be in with the D's! Is this true. If this is the case I think that is the end for us - the C's will not get a look in particularly the small ones and the size of the classes will be enormous, D's normally being the biggest. I understand why other breeds want their own sections but to mix the C's and D's seems crazy. IMO the small breeds was not very strong yesterday so not sure why the need to change the current format.

Well done overbent - just remember you took your lovely ponies home with you. Hope you said something to her - what I fail to understand is why people cannot seem to appreciate other peoples animals. It may not be your type and that is a fair comment to make but why should they 'rip' into someone elses pride and joy, we love our ponies and obviously think they are special, wouldn't own them otherwise but we are also aware of their faults - they are not perfect - what is! But we also can admire other peoples horses because we love horses and to see a lovely specimen in the ring is a privilige. Didn't know you were there would have come and said hello.

Can i just say... I'm on my way home after a really successful morning. Two wins that we didn't expect. The only thing that spoiled it was having to stand by the ring and listen to a woman whose pony we beat (twice) rip ours to shreds! I could feel my eyes well up, with hurt more than anything. It must be so much worse to read it splashed all over the internet. Please, please think how people feel, and think again before you press the post reply button. i shoudn't worry, you got the rosettes and the unnecessary bile will destroy those who spit it out far more than it will you. well done on your successes.

Cs &Ds are both cobs so while i agree about the potential size of some classes at SOME shows i really believe it's a mor equable split.

I agree with you Chloesmum re C and D's together we also have a fairly small C and they do sometimes look a little lost against the D's, having said all that the last year they were together at HOYS two C's and not very big ones at that were first and second . Next year is going to be interesting times with the new Olympia rule coming in and the changes in the sections .

i to look forward to the new nps rules next year and thought they were being implemented this year. Perhaps we will all have a bit more of a chance next year. I agree the classes are for the producers or a "face" and not the home produced and I am not sure how you will resolve this problem. Roll on next year. maybe they ought to have a home produced olympia/hoys class

I agree I think the C's will struggle but I think it will benefit the smaller pony types of C like Fiona's and Chloe's . We were at the NE yesterday and most of the talk around the ring was who was going to get the ticket at RL I can see why you would be getting fed up if you were contesting those classes , whilst we were waiting for the 1st ridden we watched the thorne valley final and the lady next too me told me who the top three would be and I couldn't believe when they called them forward as she was almost spot on just got the 2nd/3rd the wrong way round , she was genuinely surprised that I didn't know .

I THINK ITS A SHAME WHEN PEOPLE ARE SO BITTER AND TWISTED,AND FEEL THE NEED TO SLAG SOMEONES HORSE OR PONY OF FOR BEATING THERES IN THE RING!! WE MAY THINK OURS IS THE BEST BUT WE GO OUT TO COMPETE AND BY DOING SO PUT THAT DECISION IN THE HANDS OF THE JUDGE!!! ALL WE CAN ASK IS THAT OUR ANIMAL GOES WELL AND IF ITS OUR CHILD THEY TRY TO RIDE THERE BEST!! THE REST IS IN THE HANDS OF THE GODS(JUDGES).I WOUDNT WANT THER JOB!!!
WELLDONE TO ALL WHO GO OUT WITH THERE BELOVED HORSES/PONIES TO COMPETE! TOP OR BOTTOM OF THE LINE,YOU ALL DESERVE A BIG PAT ON THE BACK!! LOTS OF HARD WORK GOES INTO WHAT YOU DO TO GET TO THAT RING.!!

I have not chanaged my tune. I always thought Brock Lodge Buster an amazing stamp of a connie i just thought they were asking a lot of a novice in its first year. I no longer have horses showing or ride i just go to shows for a day out or when i am asked to judge. I do not personally know any of the connections so why would i be green eyed?

Missed the Olympia Championship so not sure if anything went wrong but from the classes the Champion looked to be T. Red Robin as outright winner. Went a treat, walked his class and the lap of honour was classic example of his breed.
Have doubts if the Connie would have been placed with anyone other than Matthew on it as it looked very ordinary. Buster looked the part and went great although in his Cudddy trot up he went vry slightly unlevel behind as he went into trot with Oliver. Looked 100% in the Olympia.
Unusual at this level of qualifier for ponies to only be judged on one rein? Perhaps she'd seen enough?
