Sally-ann Dale is written as the rider of Castle hill pearl. Seem to be a good team! How did she look?

One thing that was very strange about the judging she never walked round the ponies only glanced from one side, something which really should not happen in an Olympia qualifier.

You will often find at Windsor that because of the tight timescales, some of the judging is a little rushed compared with shows with a less demanding schedule. I would imagine that doing it the way she did, meant that she looked at each pony for the same amount of time from the same angle, rather than looking at the top few closely, then running out of time towards the end of the line.

She was ahead of time, there was a break between each class.
I think Windsor should not be allowed an Olympia, a very prestigious event, if they are not going to give enough time for the judge to judge properly. The cost to enter is extortionate. I personally believe that all NPS Areas should be allocated them first. Just my opinion.
Did anyone else notice this about the strip or was it just me.

To be honest, someone moans about the judging at every Olympia qualifier, so if the only problem was that she was quick during the strip, then she must have done a good job. Did you notice any glaring defects that she may have missed by not walking all round the ponies?

That is not the point I was not judging, but it is the only Olympia class I have seen where the judge did not examine the ponies properly in the strip.
I am not knocking her judging, just saying that is what I noticed. If you think Olympia is judged by two judges, this does seem a little odd.
However she should be praised for being a very brave judge and pulling the Qualifier up from 12th to win.

I thought the judging was a bit odd myself.Im not saying the winners didnt deserve to win because they did and it was good that the judge moved ponies up from the end of the line if they did a good show BUT.....she kept ponies in her final line up that wrong legged it or bucked in their shows and moved ponies down that did foot perfect shows....in all her classes. A big well done to all the winners. You all looked fab in the championship and all galloped as well.

I agree with broadband 50% of the marks go to type and conformation, which is very important. Also if the pony was so outstanding how come it was missed on the go round, the person on board would be very well known closer up.

Shardels Remo belongs to and is ridden by a good friend of mine. He has been on the circuit for quite a while, was entire for a time but had to be gelded due to an illness which nearly killed him. He has won and been champion in hand at most county shows previously,as well as winning at PUK Summer under saddle last year. I hope they get their much deserved Olympia ticket this year, they have worked hard for it,and if anyone is worthy of it, it is them They can pay me later

I have to say everything that made a mistake was put down the line, rightly so. Yes some were kept in the final line up but out of the top spots which is the main thing. I know certainly some horses were pulled in after a bad go round, however the judge could not see what went on behind her to be fair, but nothing that performed badly was put up. There were some really lovely ponies forward yesterday, who on another day could all stand champion, I just think the ground and the atmosphere got to some of them, but that is windsor for you !!! I throughly enjoyed watching the Queen yesterday, some of the people with her had a copy of the catalogue and she was looking up certain ponies, which I thought was very nice! I will also say I dont know how Lizzie Briant copes with the pressure of showing The Queens ponies, every ring she was in, the Queen came to show her support followed by a group of photographers!!! I know if that was me I would not take the pressure, and I am sure by now Lizzie is used to it, but I take my hat off to her!! well done

To me, the judging was very strange. When she pulls in ten (like she did the connie class) and then a pony that was not pulled in and was randomly at the end goes up to win...that is a bit bad isn't it? Not saying it wasn't a good pony.

I think that JB did a good job & although i wasn't able to stay for the championship her class winners were worthy from where i was standing. In response to the person who made the comment about a pony coming up from the bottom to win i would like say that i think this is extremely encouraging & what a shame it is we don't see it happen more often. It is easy when you are stood on the outside, afterall you can see all 4 sides of the ring, it is not so easy stood in the middle where you can only really concentrate on 1 side. Also it is not easy judging any large class but when you have classes that has a large number of the same coloured ponies (grey's in the case of the connies & blacks in the HFD) then this makes it even more difficult the concentration required is immense. It was great to see JB judge what she liked & not be swayed by faces or ponies. As for Windsor not having an Olympia qualifier that is unthinkable. No where else has that kind of atmosphere it is a very special show to qualify at. There are many shows which have time constraints HOY's & Olympia being two yet we all strive to qualify for them. Well done to everyone that went home happy

When she pulls in ten (like she did the connie class) and then a pony that was not pulled in and was randomly at the end goes up to win...that is a bit bad isn't it? I don't think that's bad at all - I think most judges can miss a pony in the go round and IMO it's a sign of good, honest judging when they are able to correct that after the individual shows.

I also think it is encouraging to some extent. But to TOTALLY miss a pony on the go round and then pull it up to win is some move!!

I watched the connies and foresters and thought that she pulled them all in order not just the top 10.
