Apparantly he is back with the Burtons and they are just having fun with him. He looked really well and seemed to be enjoying himself.

Have just looked him up and realised which one you meant (I was thinking of another one), I've seen him before and to be honest the it not J russel's type at all. And secondly he is nothing like a section A, I wouldn't be surprised if he's over the height limit, and as for movement, its not straight movement at all, he dishes like mad! So whatever else the judge did wrong he did something right by not putting that up. as he has won so many breed medals and was second at lampeter i think there may be quite a few judges who disagree, how big do you think he is then, just out of interest??

Please dont tell me they have got Harwell Wizard out again, will that pony every get a break. Someone must be desperate. He was kicking around when my daughter used to ride her sec B mare 10-12 years ago and she's 27 now

Twyford Elen is NOT 14hh at least. She is 13.2hh on the dot! I agree she does look big, we all thought she would go over height, but she hasn't.

Well it lookes like a tank, fat as hell and it like a cob more than a section A. He's over 12hh I'd say, but maybe its just the fact that he's so bulky makes him look worse.

Harwel Wizard is back with his old original owner (has been for a while) who never and never would sell him. He does various odd and ends, is ridden by her young daughter and loves his life. He is 17 and looks great for his age, it's not his fault today that he was one of the only ponies in that section that jumped a lovely fluid round. He was entered and last minute decided to do it, in fact sam was asked only when the smalls went in. What can i say they are a great partnership, yes he is 17 but hasnt been heavily shown for ages, obviously still enjoys his work and the judges obviously still think he is good enough. Well done wizard, sam and louise.

thought the 3 y.o section a filly was stunning and imo should have taken the champ. But i hear there was a hidden agenda going on there.... Section B champ was a lovely mare.

Dishing is throwing legs outwards, not moving completely straight. I remember Lapeter, there was a gasp around the ring of shock when it was pulled in so high as the judge was just losing it. What was the apparent hidden agenda with the section A??

hidden agenda is simple.... its very stinky if you ask me.... John Russell puts Kathleen James Champ (with 20 yr old pony ) I have nothing against old ponies - in its day it was nice but c'mon its way past its best. In return Kathleen James will put his pony champion at 3 counties next week??? Both are on the WPCS council and there is a longstanding 'tradition' of doing each other favours. One of the many reasons to modernise and reduce the WPCS council - can't remember if they voted for or against stopping current council members from being on the judges panel?

Why on earth shouldn't Harwel Wizard come out to play? I think it's great that he has come out again and why not.
I would also imagine that if he could tell us his thoughts he would be rather proud of showing the others who's the best again!

O right, blimey 20 years old?? must be desperate. Cant really think what John Russel has out this year which could be champion at the 3 counties, really he only has a yearling filly and 3yr old colt out and unless K James wants to make a complete wally of herself I doubt they'll go champion.

The stallion class winner was in keeping with his type and I think the winner was worthy. Not sure if it was coicidental that the champions from all sections were on the Council?! Please keep personal comments off this thread and keep it informative

i think there were around 28 entered, with 20 atleast clear-course was very easy for the smalls,so they tend not to have problems but the next 2 heights do

I did hear there was a problem with the Sec C Inhand class, apparantly they never called for the class, and started, not informing the competitiors in the collecting ring, and then the steward accused they competitors waiting in the collecting ring of being late.
Anyone know what happened here?
