Is a-cell same as plasma therapy? We're about to start intensive laser therapy for a month, and the vet mentioned PRP therapy (plasma) where they take blood from horse, spin it down & inject it into the injury site.
Is a-cell like stem cell therapy?
Unfortunately, due to his age, he's not vet fee covered - so I have to be realistic about what we can run to

Totally agree - and the Irish girl (who lives fairly near my OH home) shouldn't have gone through. So no doubt Johnny'll go now

You've missed crotchboy Lukey(fortunately for you) He's a cocky little brat with a massive hairdo and ego to match. He can't sing a note and his crotch is about 2inches above his knees, he thinks he rock n roll!

Complete and utter bloody travesty. Thought they wanted to find a decent singer? Not watching it again. Ever.

I bet Jonny will get loads of work though on chat shows and stuff. He'll probably end up with his own show cos he's a really big character and very funny

Just about to watch "Will It Snow" I'm a bit weather obsessed and find it very interesting. I hope the answer is - not much!

Just caught the end when Jonny was outed. Am I hearing right about who is on This Morning - Are The Risk out? surely not? Crotch Boy still in?
WC so sorry to hear about your boy's diagnosis. He will get better and a year does go over quickly although I know it seems forever to you right now. Can't believe that Xmas is looming again already. It is a bit of a shock when you first hear the diagnosis but things will become a routine and at least he is a good boy to look after.

Kitty of the Knickers saved ! Was hoping we'd seen the last of those !
I guess we shall see more of Johnny. Quite an entertaining bloke. He will be wanted on other shows, and I think could possible end up with a show of his own.
So sorry to hear your news WC. Poor boy, what a crying shame.

A-Cell is made from the lining of a pigs bladder. It was originally made in sheet form to put on major trauma, where there was no skin. Some bright spark then had the idea of turning it into a powder, which is then mixed with distilled water & injected into the tendon & instead of scar tissue forming, which is non-elastic, leaving a permenant weakness, new tendon tissue forms. There was a very specific exercise programme, from memory she was walked in hand to start with, we then scanned at 30 days prior to riding in walk for 30 days. 60 day scan saw no visible hole whatsoever. I think the nearest thing to it is stem cell treatment. The inection cost about £250, but was worth every penny. www.acell.com

From the website:
"A New Advanced Treatment The result of years of research and development in regenerative medicine, an injection of ACell Vet Powder in suspension provides an advanced solution for the treatment of equine tendon and ligament injuries. With this ACell Vet treatment, the equine veterinarian can now deliver the power of regenerative medicine directly to the injured site where it is needed.
ACell Vet’s advanced bioactive healing process offers the following benefits:
Regenerates normal site specific tissue. Reduction in scar tissue improves functionality and performance. Healing is significantly faster than traditional treatment. Antimicrobial properties reduce infection rates.
Results Speak for Themselves Over one thousand competition horses have now been treated by qualified veterinarians utilizing a simple ultrasound-guided injection of ACell Vet’s ECM product. Studies following the prescribed treatment protocol produced remarkable improvement over conventional therapies and an impressive 86 percent return to full work and function within six months."

This was used on our TB mare, who sustained the injury kicking the wall in a stable whilst rolling at least 6 years ago.

Well, apparently, we are NOT expecting a hard winter but our weather patterns are unpredictable so we could have heavy snow SOMEWHERE and one weather person said we will have heavy snow in the north east in the last week of November! So, all in all, an interesting programme but absolutely no help at all

Morning all BR, you are feeling mizzy, you're repeating yourself love! At home today cos frankies not very well bless her. Think its just a virus thats doing the rounds so shes cuddled up on the sofa with the dog, fighting over the blankey LOL. Big hugs to WC, I've been there with my little mare and its not nice. Thought x factor was shocking last night But have a tenner on crotch boy being in until the last 5 so my money is looking good so far lol. Don't think he's any good mind, just that he will get the girly vote, and even moreso now the boys have gone. I love x factor but apart from Biscuit Craig am really struggling to relate to any of the acts this year. Don't like whiney janet, despite the shy girl routine I thinks shes very arrogant. Kitty is crap and despite having a powerful voice is actually pretty tuneless, Marcus is good but more a west end performer than a pop star, Misha B has a very good voice but I don't like the girl and the girl band are forgetable! I love Craig though and liked Johny for his entertainment factor and actually thought he did a very good save me song last night. But knew they would save sh1ty kitty. Franie is rubbish but again at least he is entertaining and can actually string a coherent sentance together when being interviewed and has a bit of something about him. Have a good monday all! I'm going to tackle Frankies bedroom whilst I have a day off work, should take me all day the messy monkey!
