Well I know I am biased ... but one of my fav ponies of this year and of all time is my mother's Sec D stallion Floreat Dandelion. He really is the complete package - beautiful, successful in the ring, wonderful temperament and throws super foals too.
Others that have caught my eye this year in the M&M riddens ...... Sec A: Delami Destiny, Sunwillow Jubilee (another super all round stallion with great temperament, one to watch for future) Sec C: Wyken Lady Jasmine Sec D: Nebo Herbert

I used to ride for the owner of Ocean So Fair, she was a broodmare by the time I started up riding for them. Does anyone remember Cusop Gold Lace 138, Perryditch Glancing Touch 148, Risinghoe Spotlight 138, Risinghoe Chanelle 148 and Hamptonne Hawk Eye 133SHP?

Wendy of Solway was a small chestnut 13.2 sp back in the 80"s
she was owned by the Parkinsons ( they had such ponieas as Solway Camelia, Running parks hill star etc) and produced by the Gilbert Scotts
in fact David Parkinson showed Keston Music in hand

The cob Super Ted - so handsome. And at the moment Dutch Dame xxxxxx gorge!!! These were my choices too - Especially Super Ted. Also Gunnerby Aalborg Elegant - I fell in love with him at HOYS

Oh, the Perryditch pony I rode was sold to Australia I would love to know if anyone knows any ponies by Cusop Gold Lace as she went off to be a broodmare some years ago, they wanted her to keep the dun's going but the first couple of foals were paly - typical Goldie to be awkward LOL!

Perryditch Glancing Touch (Grace) used to have a real issue with other horses coming towards her in the ring which used to cause a problem if you didn't get in quick when asked to change the rein!

Sorry to say the oldies were better examples than many of the ponies of today!! There were loads of good ponies in all the classes. You could pick your winner from the top 10 or lower. You're lucky if there are 3 good ponies in a class today!!!! In the 80's Cusop Heiress, Cusop Harmony, Cusop Request, Gunnerby Aalborg Elegant, Keston Poldark, Keston Henrietta, Keston Pinnochio, Botingelle Kingfisher, Harmony Benjamin, Botingelle June and many more!! IS THERE THE DEPTH OF QUALITY TODAY??? I THINK NOT!!

I loved Bramshott Midnight Sun - I used to ride him when I was at Catherston. Also Smallprint - saw him in the flesh at the R I and loved him
Also nice to see someone nominate Lady Eleanor - I still have her parents, both 27 now; (see thread in snug area re: Sedgehill Cavalier) also there is a baby full sister; watch this space!
But I think it's true what you are all saying - show ponies seem to be a dying breed, as natives are so much easier to do for the home-produced, working-full-time people.
When I was young, there wasn't much in the way of unaffiliated showing; either you had a show pony, or you didn't do showing!! Natives weren't much favoured; we probably have Glenda Spooner (Ponies of Britain, forerunner to PUK) to thank for bringing them to the fore.
When I was 18 I had a young small hack who desperstely needed some show ring experience - the only class I could find locally was the Best Turned Out - which we won; I can remember cantering my lap of honour at walking pace, forcing all those behind me to follow untidily at trot! (What a brat I must have been!)

Aww gauntlet, Cusop Harmony for me too, I rode her at HOYS in 1980 for the Parkinson, she was the most lovely pony ever, bless her
Also for me, my old SRT/small hack Sollers Hope Dart, he was supreme SRT at BSPS in 1989, & was unbeaten in those classes then, such a star
