i know a lot of the burniston (scarborough) trophies have gone missing due to a loss of details and the change of hands. the show was cancelled last year so i'm guessing a lot more have gone too. I have 2 that need to go back

I know where our Shield is.
The young lady who won the shield has been waiting since August. For the last person who won it to forward it on.
I have spoken to the person who holds the shield still, that was in August, told no problem forward it on. Then a month ago phoned again, and wrote asking would they please be kind enough to forward the shield, we cannot find it, put it away somewhere, what was it called? where did we win it?.
I am sick of the people that are takers, for goodness sake it take enough work to run a show without all the hassle of chasing your trophy/shields.
But what can you do with these people, spoken to them, written to them, perhaps we should shame them, and that would pre-warn other shows.

Hi i am going to list a quantity of names of various trophies that are missing from Derbys County Show, Letters have been sent by our hard working trophy stewards and this is a reminder please they must be returned before the day and are not to be brought on the day as they need to be inspected etc & cleaned its only fair for the 2009 winners, also we would ask if you are not prepared to return a trophy by May 2010 please do not agree to take it home.
Please accept sincere apologies if they have crossed over in the post, but we have to chase them as dont want to have to start imposing deposits for them to be taken home, it would be a shame.

OMG EmmaJane - you certainly have a lot to get back! Last year we decided to only award cups and trophies to the Show-jumping brigade (believe it or not theyare much better at returning cups than showing people) and the usual 6 showing championship trophies. We're now keeping our fingers crossed that even those few come back. Good Luck!

Well we have dedicated stewards who will go get them if need be but shouldnt have to bless them so just helping out hoping if people see a name they know they can give a nudge, quite a few are entered and will be getting calls from stewards soon as we do need them back pre show - We have an amazing new trophy for our supreme ridden of show its a massive sheild that our family has donated in memory of grandad, and 2 more new ones on the way, would be sad if we have to start charging should be an honour to have them for a year and at least return them on time !!!!

If the trophies are not to be returned untill the 18th June I think it's a bit premature to state that they are missing, I think the post needs to be ammended.

I would be furious if I had won a trophy and my name was being put online as not having returned it, when it's not even due back yet.

But with 8 days to go before a deadline, when the person has had the trophy for a year, its cutting it fine, and I think a nudge on a public forum will help. It must be very frustrating for someone who wins a trophy at a show to be told its not there because the previous winner couldn't be bothered to get it returned.

If you are told trophy is to be returned by 18th June, then it is IMO only fair to wait until then before publishing names of people who have failed to return them. If you think it is a bit neat, then you ask for them to be returned sooner than that. I totally agree it is frustrating when trophies aren't returned, but it's not on to put a list of people online when they may well all comply with the deadline. Once the deadline has passed, then that's a different issue.

i belive at no point i said any were late i just said due back after re reading correct me if i am wrong ! You didn't say they were late, but you did say and that is misleading as the trophies (at this stage) are not missing as they are not yet due back. This thread is for missing cups and you said it was a list of missing trophies so most people would read it and assume they were late in being returned. A member from here was included on the list and did not want their name to be published on a public forum

Three Shires Show
Ridden Championship Shield.
The difference with this post I know who has got the shield, have phoned written you name it I have done it. They say what did it look like, and think put away in a draw must of been a very big draw.
They have been promising to return since August last year, the young lady who won this shield in 2008 is still waiting.
Ok then anyway know a family called Stuart, Ashborne way, maybe someone knows them who may be coming to Three Shires???
Any ideas as this show is charity based for MC cancer, and we cannot afford and should not be using any donations on replacing trophys.

That's awful. Doesn't sound as if they are denying they have it though - did they sign for it? I would be telling them to return it within so many days or pay for a replacement if they can't find it in their drawers!

I know its unlikely that anyone will read this post but admin closed my other one and I have noone else to turn to
TWO of our trophies required for THIS sunday were won by Mrs A Timms with Rotherwood Dancing Star a bay filly born 2007. I have written x2 requesting their return and no response. I have also rung but phone number given is unobtainable. The pony was shown by BROOKWATER stud who do not have a phone number for me but are helpfully trying to locate our trophies - they gave them to Mrs Timms and they are not producing the pony this year.
Can anyone help please otherwise there are going to be some disappointed competitors on sunday as I have tried my best to locate her and no luck so far
Does anyone know this pony?
Remember it could turn up at your show and win and not have the trophy returned. I'm sure its an oversight on behalf of the owner who has probably moved house and forgotten but we want them back for other children to win please
thank you

The trophy for the mountain and moorland championship at Scottish Horse has not been returned for the last two years so last years winner and ourselves have not been presented with it , it is currently in the posession of a well known family and if they read this could they let the show have it back I presume I am not allowed to name them !

Thanks for that I can't understand why anyone should want to keep a trophy when they know it should have handed it into someone else and the person who won it last year would also have liked her name on the trophy!
