I had good show I agree with some of the point's that people have made but I am sure the organiser's have done their best to make everything run smoothly and for everything to work well I agree with Chocoholic with the last bit not all the changes that UK Showing do will suit everyone but If you think about It there will always be something that will need to be Improved also by giving your thought's to them In a nice way they may take them In to consideration You also can't compare to Myerscough because It Is one of the best facilities and It was a shame to loose the venue

Why not let them have there own evening performance like it use to be!! oh I forgot maybe that dosent make money!! It was rubbish rough and disorganised no finesse what so ever!!!!!!! UK Showing dont care and dont listen. Somebody should run something similar and take it back to myerscough show ponies/Hunters one day M & M the next SIMPLE!!!!!!!!! No need for so many classes greedy!

No need for so many classes greedy! If it is so simple then why don't you do it?! Organising and running such a big show by a small committee is no mean fete and we as competitors must thank and appreciate the organisers without whom we would all be sitting at home wishing there was such a show to go to Keep going, Uk Showing .. we have been there from the very start in 2004 and yes, shame it's not now at Myerscough (not your fault) but we could see big improvements to the facilities at Bold Heath this year and yes, we did enjoy ourselves and found groundsmen and ladies in show sec's office very helpful and friendly, as always as for children's safety, i saw far too many little kids being left to run amock playing around the horseboxes and showground .. it's up to the parents to supervise their little ones

i could not believe all the rubbish that people had left even going to the trouble of tying carrier bags up then leaving them in the field where i presume horses would hope to be grazing today !!! when you think the people there were horse people it makes you wonder what they were thinking of !!!!!

I agree with the rubbish issue, and spent my day picking it up and putting it in a bag behind under the pram so not to spook any of the ponies, but also there wasnt any bins on the field, no excuse but a point for next time, like i say we had a fab weekend, just the entrance to the lorry park and field was shared by both horses and waggons going through the gate, maybe a seperate horsewalk for next year to the grass rings. the atmosphere is great but couldnt really get in to watch as was packed, but fab weekend, thanks uk showing the committee work very hard and have put on yet another successful show this year, role on the interclub xxxx

we went and had lots of good results, i agree with that bit about the m & m judge in ring 1 on sun,,,,def didnt have a clue and i even heard her say at one point that she doesnt like m&ms and thinks they should be running free with long reins like on the moors!!!!!! its laughable really at some of the results in that ring and everyone commented on it. well done everyone who was in that ring. i dont agree with the rest of you moaners and think uk showing deserve a pat on the back for organising such a large event. could i just recommend you try having not before time throughout the day so people arent stood around for such long periods of time, thanks and well done to everyone xx

i agree about the atmosphere change on the sunday , it seemed a bit dull . i cant complain because i got supreme of the show on the saturday and it was really amazing !!!. however i do agree with much of the comments made on here, especially about the rubbish , the tannoy system , the safety aspect of the walkways, and the worst part was the whooping and cheering and screaming in the evening performances . i think that those people should be made to leave . the lighting was bad , well non existant ! and i thought that was particularly dangerous when going back and to to the arena in the evening . the working in indoor was small but it was always politely used when i was there and i had no complaints at all about that . on the sunday , my daughter had a bad fall in the grass ring , the ground was very wet and her pony fell onto its side . it was such a shame , i ran into the ring in a frenzy but thankfully both pony and rider were fine and we made it home in one piece .
the people i met were very friendly and geniunely happy for our success during the day . the judge commented 'when your horse walked into the ring i thought to myself , where has this horse been all of my life ' that will stay with me forever .

Have read lots of comments on this thread and wonder if we can all come up with some positive suggestions how to improve the site/facilities/safety etc for UK Showing to take forward for next time.
I could start with one idea - The temporary stables were near the main gate, in the middle of all the wagon parking fields which is what caused everyone to be walking & driving through the middle. I would suggest that the stabling be placed nearer to the indoors and all box parking then would be over on the grass rings and where the stables had been last weekend. Restrict visiting car parking to the furthest corners - these vehicles should be the least visited during the day so distance shouldn't be a problem, and would free up more wagon spaces. Temporary lighting stanchions can be hired to provide outdoor lighting over the campsite & stables.
And yes, there should be more courtesy from all competitors and visitors towards each other. The ridiculous stamping and rowdy behaviour is entirely inappropriate and unnecessary, I can see why people would think it was deliberately intended to cause problems for competitors they see as a threat to the ones they support.

I have to agree with the comments regarding qualifying cards, it really annoyed me in the run up to the show that people were saying on open forums that they were e mailing UK Showing because they had either lost or left it too late to send in their qualifiers and that UK showing were accepting late entries without proof of qualifying, I personally know of quite a few horses/ponies that were there that certainly hadnt been to any shows this year, let alone qualifying ones, if the vast majority of competitors can return their qualifying cards before the deadline then why cant everyone else. I really feel that UK Showing should be stictor about the situation, its not like the classes we under represented. I feel that the problem with these championship shows is that its all about the money now, they have lost their sparkle as it seems anyone can go qualified or not. A fine example is the £2 per head for first aid cover and only having one first aider on site , they must have took 100's of pounds for first aid cover, for a show of this size they should have had the St Johns Ambulance present I spent all day Saturday trying to find a stable manager so that I could buy some straw to bed my horse down, finally found one at about 5pm just a couple of hours before I was due to take the pony home

The only criticism i have is not being able to hear the commentator in the evening and the fact that riders in the cob class in the daytime where asked to remove there beaglers and wear a hat with a strap when they had already entered the ring was actually quite ridiculous especially considering they let children in the concours d'elegance in the evening performance ride around without any hat at all.

enjoyed the weekend always like doing uk showing!!! but do agree some issues do need looking into getting them improved eg lighting needs to be put up, music needed to be lower, the stamping, screaming etc was totally over the top and it seemed the more a pony/horse didnt like it the louder the crowd got, need to be more first aid, people need to take rubbish home or use bins provided after all bold is a livery yard we wouldnt like it if some one left it in our fields.... i also seen people there who havent been to a club show all season and they were in quailfing classes, i also seen a few ponys/horses in the wrong height classes, and the placings in the evening was up the wall at times i seen several kids crying because they got threw to the night then never got called forward when they realised they just gave them a 10th rossette with out even checking were they should have been placed, i no the committee work very hard to try to run it as smoothly as possible but they really do need to listen to us to help keep this great show up and running, this year the standard was sooooo high think the best ive seen so far, well done eveyone

Caron - There were open classes with entries taken on the day and no points for Riding clubs - that is the Inter club at the September show I am aware that there are open classes or non qualifier classes that can be entered on the day and also that the competition is an individual one and not to get points for each RC, however the classes I am refering to were not NQ classes and as far as I am aware, one still needs to qualify at a riding club in order to compete in the qualifier classes, please correct me if i am wrong.

Another thing I noticed was that being a member of UK Showing helped a lot with some placings
