Blimey! If I hadn't been to this show myself I would be put off showing for life!
The show from my point of view was good! Ok, not perfect, but what show is?
We went on the Saturday and it was a looooooooooooong day for us.
Only did one in-hand class, the part bred welsh and i was thrilled when we won it with our fantastic brood mare, Crimson Royal Ensign.
I was also thrilled to win the members championship in the in-hand ring also, although a little disapointed that we just got a medal for this, no rosette or sash.
We then went into the evening performance and my mare did a fab trot out.
The judge must have been undecided as he pulled us and 2 cobs out to trot again.
unfortunately for me he got us to trot down the crowd side where the cobs were foot perfect and my sparky little mare was,er, sparky!
We decided to call it a day and not stay for the members supreme as it had already been a long day and we had a foal with us too, who was, i must say, a superstar. I still cannot believe how well he behaved in the evening performance!!!!
Just a couple of pointers though;
I noticed quite a few 1st place winners with red sashes, however I didn't get one for winning my class and in fact I didn't see any being given out in the in hand ring. Was this something that was missed?
I confess, I am one of the people previously mentioned, who hasn't done ANY riding club shows this season, in fact, with this mare, the UK showing show was only her 3rd show of the year. HOWEVER, I knew this would be the case, due to personal reasons (my wedding!!!!) I would not been able to do many shows this year, so the first show I did was the pre-season qualifier, which is were I qualified. This may have been the case for other competitiors too.
Well done to everyone else!
