Hi, I was the girl on the ex-racer, a friend told me I was famous for my fall on here haha, nice to know people are thinking of you! Just thought I would post an update that I am alive - contrary to popular belief! oh how rumours can spread! I just have a chip out of my pelvis, im verry bruised and I'm not verry mobile, but i'm doing ok! which is more than i can say for my confidence unfortunately. My horse is fine too, apparently she was stung around the time of the inccident, had a lump like a golf ball on her neck, but still no excuse for crushing mum! I was hoping for some photo's of what happened! weird?!... was all a bit of a blur though! So anyway ...thanks to all the people who were really understanding! (and to those not so understanding sorry I held up your class!! yes i did here the complaints... even on that spinal board)

we went and had lots of good results, i agree with that bit about the m & m judge in ring 1 on sun,,,,def didnt have a clue and i even heard her say at one point that she doesnt like m&ms and thinks they should be running free with long reins like on the moors!!!!!! its laughable really at some of the results in that ring and everyone commented on it. well done everyone who was in that ring. i dont agree with the rest of you moaners and think uk showing deserve a pat on the back for organising such a large event. could i just recommend you try having not before time throughout the day so people arent stood around for such long periods of time, thanks and well done to everyone xx was this judge emma jane barnes ? as if it was i competed against her on the 5th of july and we were both on sec c's . If it wasnt sorry for the confusion No, the judge in Ring 1 wasn't Emma, but an older lady, quite thin, short hair.

There is no doubt that the venue is nowhere near as good as myerscough. I think the show is just to big for this venue. there is no seating and its not pleasant standing through a whole evening performance. Charge an extra couple of quid a class and take it back to myerscough. Im not sure what the problem was with myerscough...ALSO................we won our section so this is not because we didnt do well..............the m and m judge (older lady not the c and d judge) was absolutley potty. Her comments about not having the ponies on a contact in the evening performance " do me a favour and let your ponies head go in the evening performance, they shouldnt have their heads in"............what a dozy old trout!!!!Told my 11 year old daughter she shouldnt have her 5 year old darty in a wilkie for the first ridden even though they are practically unofficial standard dress and accepted in all societies rules book. Judges who actually have an interest and specialist knowledge of the section they judge please. Events are hard work so well done organisers.

Hi Myerscough are not doing big events any more i think if you book the venue there is only room for 200 horseboxes and there is no room for grass rings so uk showing cant go back coz they have 8 rings each day and myerscough only allow the use of the large and small indoor and the large outdoor arena this is why so many shows have had to find other venues do to the new ruling at myerscough (hope that makes sense)

I know there is few problems with the judging ... but I feel the 2 judges I was judged by we're fair and felt we was placed fairly, My daughter pony went in the Arab/pb class did a nice go round but..... wrong legged it and wouldn't play ball at all . I feel the judge ( Terry C ) was more then fair at the placing he gave us , we're fairly new at this game and like everyone else put in a lot of effort ...BUT AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED WELL DONE UK SHOWING AND THE 2 JUDGRES WHO JUDGED US WE'RE SPOT ON rant finished

I can confirm the m and m judge was one totally batty. Said some ridiculas things to competitors and clearly had no idea. Ive said this in another thread....we won so no hard feelings from us but she was as clueless as any I have any seen in any ring anywhere. Well done to you, quite an achievement!!!!

I also thought the lady in the m&m grass ring was a little strange with her comments, and also some of the placings, she had a pony who had to be run and run to get in to canter (on the wrong leg i might add) above a pony who did a really sweet show, she also said she didn't agree with wilkies being used just because they were in fashion! My daughter finished her show and did her salute, only to look over and see the judge chatting with another lady who was in the ring, and she did this through most of the childrens individual shows, the lady who was in there was being trained by the judge apparently, but what a bad exanple to set to her, i was really bl**dy angry when she didn't acknowledge (sp) the salute from my daughter.
And it's not sour grapes from me, as my little girl won the m&m first ridden, and i thought she deserved her win.

She's about 12.3 at the mo, prob get her measured next year. I keep looking at her and thinking she seems to have grown but standing next to the others in the 13 hander class she looked small.
Thanks Aphrodite, she was a star in both evening perf's hard to believe this is her 5th ridden show (and never done anything this big before, only a quick canter round at quiet RC shows)

Please can i remind all competitors from ring one that the judge in question is very very experienced !!!
How ever with the small children she was looking at MANNERS,and style of ponys suitability to do its said job!!!!! I know some placing were not as she wanted however when children go and try and the pony only does what the child has asked then what a good pony !!!! RIDER ERRORS hell i still manage it !!!!!

Thank you for your comments good and bad we take your comments seriously and strive to provide you, the competitors with a show that you can all enjoy in the northwest area with the limited facilities that are available to us. We try our best to make everything run smoothly and for everything to work well. We do agree that there are improvements that need to be made and they are ongoing; we would welcome any suggestions in regards of future possible venues adequate to facilitate the operations of UK Showing. Thank you to all competitors for an enjoyable but hard weekend, UK Showing would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all staff and judges for all the hard work, without you the show would not go ahead. Anne & Jeanette

Re. the rubbish issue ... Sunday, we were parked right outside the indoor school/evening performance entrance where there were two large bins situated and they were absolutely overflowing with rubbish and would not take anymore .... if those bins had been emptied by Bold Heath then the rubbish floating around the showground would have been less, i'm sure

I think emma barnes is a great judge ;Ddid she judge the show ponys on sunday ? no, luckily it was Gill Kennedy judging the show ponies on Sunday and she was very fair, accurate and keen on manners too AND she gave every pony a really good look over, excellent judging and congrats to our class winner and eventual SP Champion .. well deserved, beautiful 14.2 (we were 2nd with our novice and very happy with that) Emma Barnes was judging the large breeds ridden ring up on the surface and again chose a very worthy winner in our class a very nice fell mare beautifully ridden and did do the best individual show IMO .. just wish she'd had it M&M champion in the eve performance ...also thought Hedgethorpe Tilly Trotter might have been placed higher than she was but hey ho, just another opinion (we were 4th with our highland .. he won last year and was res champ ... that's they way it goes .. Hector really enjoys the eve performances and so does his rider and they are always pleased just to go thru to the night-time)
