Thank you for taking the time to explain this - do you know why there was no best small traditional award given out this year?
Not bit*hing, just curious as you do have best native, best large traditional but not small traditional.

(I come in peace!!) There was - we got it!! Our 5 year old stallion Del Boy V :-) We were made up with him, he is in his first season and although young & inexperienced, is a great advert for his type with his fantastic easy going attitude he didnt peep at anything or put a foot wrong... (Go the gypsy cob!!) Dont really want to get involved in the politics of this thread, because as was said earlier we do put ourselves in the judges hands... And at the end of the day guys, we all know what we have got and lets face it we wouldnt swap! Well done to everyone who competed, all the horses I saw went fantastic on the day and everyone should be proud of themselves for just getting there, regardless of their placings. Best of luck to everyone for next season and remember tomorrow might be our day :-) xx

Small traditional pony not ex 138 used to get a award for best very small traditional, that was the one I was asking about.
Congratulations with Del Boy - to get to HOYS as he did is an amazing achievement and one you must be over the moon to have done.

Knowing absolutley zero about coloureds, I happened to watch most of the classes at hoys. I was expecting plaiteds, cobs and the wonderful traditionals but couldn't get where the native type fitted in, they seem to have not enough hair and bone to be a traditional yet not a cob or plaited either!

lancs i do not understand what you mean about the natives as all the types are different to each other.

a native type is as described Native such as welsh cob, shetland etc, there are several categories, plaited, traditional, native and show cob, then within them, hack, vanner etc etc, they are not supposed to be a traditional nor a plaited they are their own type!
