Please add yours !
Mine are: People lunging Very early morning at shows and their class isn't untill mid afternoon resulting in horse dragging head and riding on forehand when not even needed !!
People over bending their mount and kick their legs everywhere and saw their hands .
Riders blocking the judges view .
bit*hy comments on the go around .
Worst of all is (ridden welsh ) riding myself and seeing a D with a long dragging tail and no bone being put up the line because it goes round 'quietly ' rather than powering forward and actually going somewhere !! Hang on, my Mount goes softly and quietly also il just take a ridden D into a novice hunter class perhaps we'l be placed seen as we just plod around quietly ! With a gallop that would be faster going backwards !
Grrrrr rant over . I might remember more once I calm down lmao

My major gripe is people using their horses as a grandstand. You see them sat on their mounts for hours on end before and sfter being in the ring. For gods sake!! Give them a break from being sat on!!

Stupid shows! At a show recentley were somebody did a full lap of trot one rein, across the middle, full lap the other rein and then did the same with canter... judge was bored and so were we when there was still 9 of us to get through.
People sitting at the ring side commenting as you go past, never heard a nasty comment about my self personally but a girl behind me got quite upset when somebody said 'thats got a horrible head' this was probably her pride and joy just like my D is to me..
PINK i hate it... it looks cheap and tacky!
People with a stick with a bit of leather on it for the odd crack with it when the ponies not doing as its told... should be allowed it should only be a plain cane
Seeing ponies in the warm up arena with training aids on pulled right tight so they are extremley overbent and cannot extend a trot correctly because of it
Talking in the line up... seriously if you are competing and in the ring you should be sat up straight, aware of the judge and aware of whats going on around you not sitting chatting to the person next to you for 30 minutes..

Incorrectly fitted curb chains (too tight) and no lip strap. To go with that the horse going overbent to ty and get away from the tight curb and the rider using spurs to try to get it going forward..........loosen the curb chain.

Pink tweed. Ew, no. Also, expecially in welsh in - hand classes, I don't like the way some of the ponies are treat particually then C&D's that are being wound up to 'look good' and have some 'spark' about them. I have been told by in - hand judges that my boy isn't energetic enough - he is infact energetic plenty, but just doesn't lack the manners that EVERY pony should have! The b*tchyness and general cheating that comes with showing. Facey judges! OMG! Sick of judges placing the produced ponies first becuase they're produced! People who see your 'mongy' trailer and automatically assume that you have a 'mongy' pony to go with it. We have trailer, but we only have a trailer because we can't afford to buy a decent pony and have a 'fat' wagon at the same time. Judges that place stallions first because they're stallions. This must honestly be the most pathetic reason to place a pony first, "because it's a stallion." No! They may have the so called 'extra presence' but stallions that have disgusting attitudes and are still placed first is just appauling! It is QUALITY not QUANTITY!!!!!!! Fair does, if the stallion is well mannered and is a good example of his breed, I have no problems with them standing at the top of the line. It's just the naughty ones I don't like!!! Jockey's with flappy legs. Jockey's who 'spit their dummy out' because they didn't win. Strapping. I think it's rather cruel tbh. Lunging whilst other people are working in, seriously, it's just bad manners! People who leave there rubbish on the showground!

People who block the working in area! It's there for everyone to use. Facey judging... I really don't mind being behind a producer because, yes, a lot of the time their ponies are stunning & go foot-perfect but when they misbehave & still are put top is when it is annoying. Cheating of any sort. People who let their ponies stand on the showground all day long. As soon as ours have finished their classes we get them straight home, it's just unfair to let them stand on a lorry all day long. I don't mind when people 'over take' on the go round as a lot of the time it's hard to turn a circle in the ring, but people who stay next to you & don't go ahead! I had two people block my SH once, & they went that slow she came back to trot coincidentally in front of the judge.. & when the steward says "back to walk please" & all of a sudden there's a rush of ponies to get into the middle of the ring, circling round the judge & blocking others to get a pull! People who walk in a class & are like "I'm going to win this" - you'll never know what's going to happen, especially in showing!

Getting beaten in welsh classes by rearing ponies who cant even walk away without jogging and messing around, when my pony has behaved perfectly because I expect him to have manners!
Being thundered past in the go round by a large section D- scared me and pony, and meant we had to trot, circle away or give us more room thanks! It was only my first ever open as well...
Flapping, sawing riders, or adults squashing in small ponies, then plonking kid on at the last minute
Being cut up in the warm up
Biased, facey judging
People wacking their ponies and giving them no time to respond.

The manic circling around the judge after the go round! I would go mad if I was judging and tell them all to get back onto the outside track! Baffles me why they get away with it!
People who can't understand that you pass left to left whilst warming up and have a go at you for staying on the outside on the left rein.
Lunging in the warm up area, leaves no room for others to ride and often the lunged horse is being badly behaved... Not nice when you're trying to settle a youngster!

- people entering novice classes with ponies that have won at county and higher - yanking on the ponys mouth and booting them with the outside leg every stride 'so the judge cant see' - people who have a pony with no presence, shuffling around the ring being kicked every stride.. who moan about stunning ponies being placed above them because said stunning pony had a little jump going into canter etc... - horses being stood in the stable in side reins all day - when you have a nervous pony who's loading slowly but surely, and your letting them have a sniff of the ramp etc.. then a do gooder runs behind the pony with a broom and belts it on the bum. not helpful and not appreciated!! - long shows that really have no purpose and you can tell they're making it up as they go along - ponies who dont stand still in the lineup and knock into everything else causing general chaos - being talked about/snide comments because you have a nice horse

Adults and older kids with pony tails hanging out their hats, even worse long hair right down their backs. Its so much neater to have it up in a bun.
Bum freezer jackets
Bright yellow jods on adults in day time classes.

Also I hate people slagging you off because you have done well. And made up stories about your home produced nags! Omg the list could go on. Hugely fat horses and ponies so fat they wobble and they have dimples in their bums necks etc. Cant owners not see how fat they are. Oh and people who wear pink tweed, tonnes of make up and bright red lipstick. I dont know about everyone else, but id love the time between polishing tack, horses and sorting myself out to be able to slap on loads of make up. how is it possible lol

Another one for the leg flapping club. Keep your flippin legs still !! Also bratty kids that burst in to tears because they didn't win But number one is people slagging the judge as they leave the ring because they didn't like the result. Just not dignified people !!!

People who go back into line after doing their show through the front of the line-up instead of going round the back
Judges who don't watch your show
People rattling bottles with stones in behind welsh ponies - with no thought for whoever else may be around

I have to confess I am one of those who chats continuously in the line up, especially if it is a massive class! Cannot believe how many pet hates each of you have - showing is supposed to be fun! I only have a few pet hates... I cannot stand lunging in the warm up area - find a quiet space to do it People who dont read the rules - its very petty, but if it says no jewellery then take it out - i make an effort to remove mine! People who dont listen to the judge when a set show is requested.

Not sure how you can expect people to sit in silence in the class sizes in HOYS qualifiers or even at a lower level? 45 in my class at Cheshire, I for one will probably be chatting away for the majority of the class ;D Only things that annoy me is people who do not pass left to left when working in. Had a few very near misses on Sunday as people come thundering towards me, expecting me to move when i'm on the left rein! It's basic ring craft for crying out loud! & people who block you in as you pass the judge, but i've conquered that issue, either stay off the track or drop down to trot & over take them Showing is supposed to be fun!!! ;D

I always chat in the line up! It's not school... You don't have to sit in silence and look bored. It's meant to be enjoyable, I for one would not mind people chatting at all if I was judging... Just keep it down

Not to many, just a few irritating little things!
Snide comments as you go past People that winge about anything and everything, for heavens sake get a life!! Shows that go on forever People lunging in the middle of the warm up and going right out onto the track, I don't mind lunging but if there is space to do it elsewhere then do! and keep off the track so other people can go past! People not passing left to left in the working in judges or stewards not telling you if there is a set show, or people not listening if there is! People who sit to far back on the saddle People who lock their arms straight, annoys me so much! A friend of mine rides with her arms locked and the heel of her hand stretched down into the ponies neck, she's come off twice and broken both her arms in exactly the same place because of doing that!) Chlidren(&adults aswell!) who get a tight hold of the front end but don't put enough leg on to back it up! People who try to ride over the top of you in the working in because you're on a small pony! B*tchyness, no need for it, save it til you get back to the lorry! Facey judging and bad judging People that ride mares right up behind a stallion. Badly behaved stallions, okay mine will fidget a tiny bit and whinnies occassionally but he's only a baby in his first season of showing and he's just getting used to these things, but stallions that kick out, scream their heads off, spin round in the line up and back into everything shouldn't be allowed in the ring.
Think thats all of them! Sara, I like to see an inch of white cuff on the end of a jacket sleeve, think it looks smart, any more and if there is wrist showing aswell then the jacket sleeves are to short! Bow1607, I was going to ask the same thing, how is strapping cruel, I've had ponies fall asleep resting a back foot whilst I've strapped them! Showing is supposed to be fun and a way to meet new friends and catch up with the old ones!
