Classes that clearly clash on a schedule - the people entering both and expecting others to wait for them. GRRRR

Bum Freezer jackets - they look obscene! Children riding ponies out of their rhythm in trot - it is not a race! Swales bits

Bow1607, I was going to ask the same thing, how is strapping cruel, I've had ponies fall asleep resting a back foot whilst I've strapped them! Me too, thats why I thought it was an odd comment. Jack loves being strapped

being cut up or blocked in while in the ride round, competitors chatting up the judges while in the ring, face judging when the horse has gone badly and they still win even after it giving a poor ride for the judge. Bad manners in hand and ridden and still being placed. shows that drag on for no reason apart from bad organisation making the day long for those waiting to go in championships. Moaners!!! argh! incorrect dress! bits and tack incorrectly fitted! OMG there is a massive list!

Pro's that enter HP or amateur classes, pothunting, judges that totally ignore you and don't watch your show, being told 'I didn't place you/put you first as I prefer the bigger ones', boxing in, blocking the judges view.

Waggly feet! I don't just mean flapping legs but when the feet waggle manically, usually when the jock has been sat in line then suddenly realises they are next to do a show and the feet get possessed! Also waggly heads when, in an effort to look like the pony is on the bit the jockey pulls the head from side to side then they look like they are actually weaving!
In fact I don't like anything that waggles ;D

Got to agree about the standing still in the line up - I hate it when people just let their horses back into your in the line up - When your horse has stuck it's ears back and is reversing into mine I'd really rather you pushed them fowards rather than waiting until they kick my horse and possibly me!!

Waggling feet must drive the ponies mad - if I was a pony I'd deck them!!

pet hates are judges that don't know their breeds or can at least have a sensible guess at them People who think they are the best so should win when in fact often it is the pros that are the best there bad losers the insane circling of the judge at the end of the go round Riders who dont go back to the judge to salute but do it half a mile away in a salutary fashion Tied down ponies and ponies that look like they have been tied in at the front with no good action through from behind And endless meandering around in an individual show

Not a pet hate but really amuses me is when they've picked a few in from the initial show they ask the rest to line up!! It's no holds barred rugby scrum as no-one wants to be on the end!

A face caked with slap, particularly that dayglo lipstick, looks horrible - some of the intermediate jockeys look like WAGS. Not hugely keen on seeing the horse covered in make up either
Constant kick, kick, kick nagging at the horse. What has happened to using your seat and maintain your lower leg position?
Riders who think its acceptable to gob the horse in the mouth because it didn't go quite as they hoped. If I was judging a class and caught a jockey doing that, they would be asked to leave the ring

Judges chatting & hugging parents at ringside then placing their little darlings first (even when they're a tiny tot riding a shetland in a PC pony class). Badly behaved stallions that run backwards & rear then get placed first - just because they were stallions! Plaited ponies in an M&M class. Judges not knowing what is a small M&M even when the schedule clearly states only a's, b's, dartmoors, shetlands & exmoors. 'Cob x' then gets placed in top three! Incorrect showing attire for M&M classes.

Dislikes~Pushy parents who give their kids instruction, rather loudly, ringside. Bum freezer jackets, light coloured gloves on bad hands, messy hair, OTT makeup including false lashes, black hat harness, too much red showing..eg browband, waistcoat, hair ribbons, tie & Large adults riding small M&M's. Likes~Pink tweed jackets on M&M lead rein types, hands carried correctly and still, quiet legs. Professional turnout and beautifully schooled ponies!

Noooooooooooo not pink tweeds My pet hate is kids showing their ponies when they clearly would rather be doing something else, just because mummy wants them to. St least try to smile or at less not look bored (perfectly fine if the frown comes from concentration, but not from sullenness...) Also kids doing LR equation classes then going off and competing in open classes on the same pony. Well done you for being capable of competing in open classes while still young enough to do LR, but if you're that capable, leave the LR equation to the true LR jockeys.

I'm with you on the pink tweeds Nici. When I'm Prime Minister, pink will in fact be banned as a colour ;D I can't stand bling, diamante, lots of make up (jockey and horse!), scruffy hair under hats and poorly tied ties with massive knots. A Windsor does it every time for me

Stupid ringcraft, why oh why do people feel the need to block others and come across the middle and do there own show in the judges face... go away, it should be fair they should be put back in the rest of the go-around and told to stay there!!!

Bad manners!
Not keen on seeing children tipped forward on their ponies with their hands somewhere below the pony's shoulder and their outside heel slapping the living crap out of the pony who has its chin on his chest and its back end in the last county while Mummy stands at the side and says "look at my HOYS champion!"
Silly hair bows that are larger than a child's head ..... anything pink!

I'll vote for you as prime minister Nia! ;D White show shirts on hairy ponies hit me yesterday, I really can't stand it! Welshy people with their stallions that have 'presence' yet feel the need to have people from outside the ring whooping, cracking whips, waving around carrier bags & whistling to get their heads in the air, running ahead of the leaders & running up other ponies backsides. Coincidentally, a young LR rider fell off her little Section A in the Mini Championship at Derbyshire Festival yesterday. After seeing the young girl fall off & seeing the pony was very upset, the incredibly inconsiderate bunch continued to make these ridiculous noises as the pony was walking past, BUCKING & SPOOKING & was clearly scared out of it's mind, the poor poor pony! The pony very nearly kicked some of these stupid people as the pony was spinning to try & kick them. I've seen this pony out before, in evening performances, championships etc & she is such a well behaved pony & her little rider is a lovely quiet rider, but this group of people took it over the top & I know EVERYONE who saw this incident yesterday were appalled & I heard a few LR mums giving them a piece of their mind! Did they stop? No, of course not. Another incident regarding this group of people happened during my Junior class. My mum had come in to strip for me & as she had no one to look after my 5 year old sister, she asked her to sit quietly at the fence (no one else was along this fence, it was just behind the line up so she was no further than 2m away from us), she sat quietly watching the class when a man ran up behind her with a C mare (that looked terrified of the whip he was waving in her face!), stopped spun her around a few times & very nearly took out my sister who was sat right up against the fence making no noise. All the grooms in this class were disgusted & my mum wanted a 'word' with him but he paraded off with his frightened mare before she could! I could not believe what I saw yesterday, the behaviour from these Welsh people was absolutely disgusting! I have a Section B stallion & he would probably be at the bottom of the line in inhand Section B classes as he has manners & doesn't have plastic bottles & bags waved behind him. GRRRRRRRR! Rant over

Adults who work in LR/FR ponies! People who take their HOYS/RIHS ponies to little local shows, it's just pot hunting. When show organisers put big moving classes in tiny rings, 30 welsh cobs all cantering round in a small ring can be complete and utter carnage! Toilets that are miles away from the lorries. Oh, when workers jumps are left up all day in rings, and you have to try and weave in and out of them. And people sawing on ponies mouths. Think that's all

Over use of pig oil, make up and glitter. It stinks and gets everywhere, mostly in the horses eyes. Swales bits. Ghastly Bumfreezer jackets. Laughable Loos miles away from the ringside. Excruciating Stirrups too short. Silly and unsafe Constant kicking into a dead unfeeling hand. Horrid Sam Marsh pelhams. Ghastly Raw spur marks on a horses sides. Unfeeling rider Saddles that don't fit but are used because the rider thinks it gives a good outline Riders who leave the ring before being dismissed because they have the wrong colour rosette Riders entering reams of classes and expecting the judge to hold each one up for them to appear. Riders not appearing for championships. Having to walk miles between rings and my car with habit, jackets, hats, waterproofs, canes etc "Big Trots" across the diagonal. Purleaze..

Not passing left to left in a warm up ring and people just colliding into you, I can never warm up properly as it really annoys me!!
People who when you walk to the ring on your horse for a class next to go in and then you hear other riders say "well there's no point in entering now that's here" just because "that's" here doesn't mean he's always going to win the class!!
In championship big horses against ponies so the big horses don't get a look in!!
Horses entering the wrong class, eg sections d's in cob classes
bit*hing at the side of the ring not needed!!
Incorrect show gear and just looking scruffy.
People that warm up outside the ring when waiting to go in!
People with dogs outside the ring that while you are on a go round they aren't paying attention and the dog comes into the ring and you have to dodge it!
The whole sawing of mouth thing, any need?!
People throwing hissy fits for not wining and storming out!!
Showing is extremely fun and I love meeting new people and getting out and about there's just them couple of few people the spoil or sometimes!! X

People, like the young chap in the ring yesterday, who enter youngstock classes with the most horribly behaved 2 yr olds and then proceed to whip them non stop with a schooling whip (a purple one at that ) for the entire class to a point even a child says he better stop or he is going to get told off! If you can't handle it, don't bring it in!

My biggest pet hate is children whos ponies are tacked up and warmed up by a parent, the child is then plonked in the saddle, sent in the ring and as soon as it leaves they jump off and don't give the pony another look. These children obviously don't enjoy what they do, so why force them? I'd much rather see a child smiling and having fun, then the pony will have fun too.
Also judges who don't watch your show, and people being placed because of 'who they are' .
