ISNT IT THE STEWARDS JOB TO CONTROL WHAT GOES ON IN THE RING??? I DONT THINK MANY KNOW THAT ITS NOT ALLOWED OR THEYRE INTIMIDATED BY THE COB FOLKS AS IT SEEMS THE NORM AND HOW DARE ANYONE TRY TO TELL THEM ITS NOT O.K!!!

just going of track for a moment can some one please tell me why everyone has to stop just outside the ring entrance to hold a meeting, and get the hump if you ask them to move because you need to get a stallion through, know our stallion is good in company but he's not dead, and trying to squeeze him behind mares and geldings is not easy, is it just me or do others who show stallions have the same problem?  |

(IM TOO SCARED TO JOIN THE SMITE CUB) I used to steward for one of the county shows, and beleive me the abuse you get went you attempt to stop the "ring craft" <<cough cough>> is awful. Also at this certain show its requested you wear a hat of some form in the ring ... and the reply was "we dont have to at the Royal Welsh so why do we have to here" The horses are lovely but sadly some those showing them believe themselves to a law unto themselves. Yes Halfpass ... I have a section A colt and it drives me mad when they gather at the entrance/exit. He might be little but he still has hormones bless him. Its the tuts you get when you ask them to give you room .... and I am polite ... I dont just steam through shouting "MIND YA BACKS" My other pet hate .. dogs on retractable leads. Please walk them to heel .. there is a time and a place, I dont lunge my horse to ring!!!! Dont they realise the lead wont retract from round a horses legs? Oh heck ... sorry going off on a tangent. |

thank god for that I thought it was just me becoming a old grump, mind you I think the funniest thing I ever saw was at a show a few years ago in a ridden M&M and the judge asked if all the stallions could line up behind the mares and gelding, it was the look of surprise on her face when we all started laughing, the steward then pointed out that this was probable not a good idea

its not just stallions, i use to ride a very moody mare. coming out of the ring wasnt fun, she would be on her toes fired up, rearing, jumping in the air. it was either move or she will move you. dangerous. dogs and ballons and umberellas at shows.. what is the need?

I do sometimes wounder if it is done on purpose, but I would like to believe it is just thoughtlessness, and that they just don't think, perhaps instead of asking them to politely move we should just start waving our bags.  |

To be honest, Halfpass Im sure alot of it is, I ve seen some right shady behaviour in the showring, and usually the same perpetrator each time in south wales.

Oh yes, and it worked! Pony did amazing gallop but thankfully child wasn't too scared at the end of it, but somepeople will try and win by fair means or foul! |

hey absfabs, you can count on my foalie to be the entertainment at the foalie shows, mine usually do the can can and the wall of death at the same time!!!!
your not a baby dragon, anyway it how their raised if you will feed him on fresh meat what do you expect!! mine eat gorse bushes and blue and red smarties to keep their energy up!!!

last nps foal show i was sent out of ring in b class as my pony was plaited, not the norm for section b , I KNOW, but classes clashed and didnt have time to take them out!!!
was told somone complained before i went in, so was EXPELLED!!!!! WON THE H.P.B FOAL CLASS.
GETTING US BACK ONTO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC!!!!

Awww, thank s guys, shes a doll, cant wait to get her. Aww, Glitterbug is gorg too though!! We on different circuits though, prob only meet in Builth, I m a little worried about the competition down here too. Should be interesting. |
