Sky, olympia champion was Xander of Mend1ck (see our list of qualifiers and earlier posts above) Is that the one with the white foot and sock?

It's not ponly the way of going that matters, or breed type. Everyone must remember that conformation, bitting, feet, etc can all play a part in a decision. It's tough and we all have to live with it. All judges have their opinions.pet loves and hates and the beauty of it is that most of these remain their private thoughts.

In light of Windsor judging, and ponies being brought up to win right from the bottom, i was a little surprised to see a highland leave the ring as it wasn't called in after the first go-round...foolish (and a bit rude) if you ask me...you never know what'll happen after the individuals...

In my opinion on the connie/nf class the winner is a lovely free moving connie that always goes well and my god he can certainly gallop.

Looks like a fun day was had by all, I also heard that the hairy class was the worst judged class so glad I didn't go in the end. My friend said the winner should of been the dales that was originally pulled top, as it apparantly did a foot perfect show and really galloped. She also said that a couple of top ponies in the class should of been higher.

Well i watched the classes - and i thought Mr Sutcliffes judging was SPOT-ON all day - and no i wasnt competeting myself - he watched every pony - he rewarded the good ones - and we must remember its very easy to say - '' i thought'' etc etc - he IS the judge - not us - well done Russell.

To be fair to Mr Sutcliffe, I think he gave every pony a fair chance and had a look at every pony and for this, I am sure competitors are grateful to him!. There is nothing worse than being in the ring and knowing a judge is not looking/interested in you!!!

Well to me the top ponies were. 1st Castle Hill Flash, the best show of the day. He has been champion under RS so has his conformation changed? Joint 2nd, The Connie and the D they both went fantastic in the championship. Why ask for ponies to gallop and then chose the ones that dont necessarily gallop. What was he doing in the C&B class at least he made up for it in the final walk round. I bet the shoeing on the B was good

Surely as a council members daughter this is not acceptable!

There is a rule in the rule book that says you can not leave the ring without the judges permission:o In reply to rule book guest, may i say, that manners cost nothing, and judges are expected to conduct themselves in such a way that they have respect for each individual exhibit, and be polite and well mannered to all. The judge and stewards in the ring would be frowned upon if they were rude and ignorant, and therefore, competitors should do the same, there is such a thing as ring etiquette, some riders need to learn what this it. I must also say, that the younger children need to learn this from an early age, as I have found it is the older ones that think they can just do as they please in the ring. I do understand that sometimes competitors are not pleased with judges, placings and general judging, but in the ring is not the place to have a paddy. I am sorry if I sound a little abrupt on this subject, but i feel quite strongly about it. thankyou...

'bspspuk judge' - i totally agree with your sentiments - but why are you aiming your post at 'rule book' - in their post they stated that the rules say you CANNOT leave the ring without the judges permission. They weren't disagreeing with that so why your post ??

Just needed a good rant, hope this helps. regards..
